Our tour guide, Gene, was very knowledgeable and personable. Highly recommend.

You won't believe how much enjoyment is packed into a tour of Lake Jocassee! Creseda is very knowledgable and did a superb job of customizing our boat tour to fit the needs and desires of our group. The lake level was high, and she was able to maneuver our boat very close to at least one waterfall. Views are breathtaking, and wildlife is abundant. Particularly thrilling was spotting what we think was a juvenile Bald Eagle! Get a group together and take a tour. You won't regret it. Our group went on a Saturday morning, and parking was not an issue as JLT has their own parking lot and shuttled us right to the dock! Five stars all around!

Lake Jocassee was absolutely beautiful. We rented single kayaks for the day. I just have a few suggestions…I think the company should put how long it takes to get to each waterfall on their website. The day of they told us one of the most popular ones is a 3 hour kayak trip, but seeing as you have to return the kayaks by 5 pm that seems almost impossible to get there and back. The closer waterfall is 45 minutes, although it took us a little over an hour to get to it. It’s a waterfall, but nothing crazy special. Just looks like a small stream really. After seeing that one, we decided to try to get to wright falls, but got lost and just decided to head back. Unfortunately, we got caught up in the speed boat waves and kayaking back was very tiring, especially in the heat. We ended up finding a little island to hitch our kayaks up to and jump in the water. Let me be clear…NONE of this is the companies fault, I just wish they specified how long it can take. But I still recommend them! I would just do a boat tour next time instead (and we will definitely return). If you do decide to rent the kayaks, come prepared and be ready for an arm workout!

We had an AMAZING 3-hour tour today with our tour guide, Matt, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. He is a young man who clearly has a very bright future ahead of him for sure. He was so knowledgeable about the lake and told us tons of great information and interesting things about the lake, got us to some fabulous spots for swimming and jumping off the rocks, seeing waterfalls and more. You could tell he genuinely loved being there too! He was not only amazing for us as adults, but he was also phenomenal with our kids (ages 12 and 7). He went above and beyond to give us a great tour of the beautiful sights and experiences to be had at the lake. We even got to see a bald eagle! The boat was great, and all of the people we encountered at this touring company were amazing really. From the gentleman that greeted us at the parking lot to the shuttle driver to the greeter at the dock - all efficient, friendly, and professional. Also Tim was who I booked with over the phone and he was so friendly and helpful! He gave me the first inkling of the great time we were in for, and then everyone we met today followed suit with amazing service. We cannot say enough good things about this company and we plan to return soon for another tour. We did the afternoon tour, but they also have a morning tour, sunset tour, and full moon tour. This lake is the most beautiful one in the Carolinas we’ve ever seen for sure. The water is clear to where you can see your feet - a beautiful emerald green (similar to Pensacola Beach for anyone who knows it) - but freshwater. The waterfalls were stunning, and the rocks and trails were so fun! Just be careful because many of the rocks are slippery when you go in the trail areas. Kids and adults alike will LOVE going on a tour with Jocassee Lake Tours. The gorgeous lake is surrounded by equally gorgeous mountains, and with this company serving you, you can’t go wrong. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for all ages!! Don’t forget to tip your shuttle drivers and your guide well!! They deserve it for such excellent service!! Thank you to all that helped us have an awesome day on the lake today, especially our tour guide, Matt! Can’t wait to go back!! - Sarah Harson

The Lake Jocassee tours are guided on a pontoon boat. Don't think fishing an option. I suggest you call them & ask if they have such options.
Our tours begin at $40 per person for 3 hour tours and $50 per person for 4 hour tours. Kids are 10 % off regular scheduled tours. Thand for asking. We would love to have you.
Should be ok to change but make sure the date you want is available
I would recommend using the restroom prior to departure.
