Took my son, he had a fantastic time. Could have spent the entire day there. The nature trails were great, the exhibits intriguing, and the interactive science was fun.

The outdoor spaces are great, but the exhibits inside are covered in dust, extremely dimly lit, have cobwebs hanging from them, or are very broken (a snake was missing half of its body including the head).

My grandson loves the dinosaurs but I absolutely love the freedom they allow the kids to have as they enjoy playing and learning.

It is a great place to go with your child/ren.. with the ticket you purchase you will get to see one of the movies they are providing in a huge movie theater. Then you have different sections where your child can learn more about nature and animals. They also have a space where the children can play some experimental games. And finally the outside walk through the backside of the museum is the final nice experience you can finish tour day there.

I don't know the children's museum, but it would probably be better. Fernbank is better for around 7 to teenage and up.
If you have a child with dietary needs go prepared. My son has many allergies and the options were extremely limited.
Due to proximity to downtown, the light pollution will severely limit star viewing. But, if you mean to use the property it is too forested and closes early. They do have a planetarium sometimes though.
Yes. I didn't see the elevator until I was leaving the museum 😒
It's actually not bad. Sandwiches, salads, wraps, hot dogs, burgers, soda, tea, coffee, and juice.
It's at the corner of Ponce de Leon Ave and Clifton Rd
If I'm not mistaken the science center has free admission
According to the web page they are open. If you don't have a membership you can buy daily passes. You can bring a picnic lunch or there is a café on site.
The website says open daily from 10 am-5 pm for the museum and Giant Screen Theater. The forest is 10 am-4:30 pm daily. It's only listed closings are Thanksgiving and Christmas
Look, basically it's a place of business and no you cant bring outside food but they do have snacks and refreshments inside....again...its a museum, not the theater
Call them directly
Yes. Still just as good as remember I saw it first time.
Yes you can buy tickets at the front desk
Yes. But I recommend you to buy it online. It's faster when you arrive and cheaper.
Go to their website and click 'Today at Fernback'
I don't think so.
You have to buy them online in advance, currently.
Yes, Fernbank's Museum Store offers a variety of dinosaur merchandise, including branded and non-branded souvenirs. Examples include postcards, scientifically accurate dinosaur models, ornaments, patches, mugs, plush toys, games, novelties and more.
Tickets are valid through 5pm on the date of your visit, regardless of entry time. Most people spend 2-3 hours but many stay most of the day and some pass through more quickly. Tickets specific for special programs after hours are valid during the event itself, like Fernbank After Dark, which is from 7:30pm-11pm for ages 21+ only. Hope to see you soon! (sorry, but wrote this earlier and forgot to hit the "post" button. :)
You can only buy your tickets online so they have to be purchased in advance so go online to fernbank. Org I can't remember look it up it's easy enjoy your time there
Sorry I don't

Fernbank museum of natural history is the best. It has many life size dinos. There are 2 in the lobby that are simply amazing. The argentinasaurus and giganautasaurus. Simply amazing plus many others. Address is 767 Clifton road, Atlanta, ga. It's not downtown. It's out enough that the traffic isn't bad. It's a great follow up to seeing the Georgia aquarium and the whale sharks!
Depends on what center u go to and what attractions you want to experience. Their website has all the info for movies and general admission
About 15 miles without traffic it should be like 25 minutes.
No you have to enter through the front door in order to access the trails in the back
Yes, but I'm not sure about the price
http://www.fernbankmuseum.org/visit/ I recommend that you buy the City Pass: https://es.citypass.com/atlanta

$5 with City Pass.
No extra charge for outside (called Wildwoods).
I believe $12.00. Please check the website for updated pricing.
Yes, they can be purchased at the museum.

Yes. I called about this a few weeks ago. They are available, but are on a first come first serve basis.
