Due to proximity to downtown, the light pollution will severely limit star viewing. But, if you mean to use the property it is too forested and closes early. They do have a planetarium sometimes though.
I don't think they are typically open late enough to see the stars naturally. It is also a little close to the city, so light pollution may limit what you are able to view
Like others have said, the park typically isn't open that late, the park is covered with trees and so close to Atlanta it would be hard to see anything.
Call the fernbank Museum to see if you can do star gazing
