Great experience. I made an appointment, zero wait. Extremely helpful staff, friendly, efficient. Title and registration in 15 minutes!

I would give this DMV no stars if possible. I would recommend going to any other DMV in Virginia before this one. For a year, I was unable to get my car registered because every time I went in the employees (including management) said I needed different paperwork. I had probably 7 different appointments and each time I was told I needed something different from what I was told the last time. I spent almost a year going back and forth with them, my car title company, jumping through hoops for notarized documents and other “required” documents. Each time I asked “after I get this, is this all you’ll need from me?” To which EACH TIME they said “yes”. The last time I went and they told me they required “one more document” from my loan company and I was so frustrated I decided to go to another DMV all together. Yesterday I went to the DMV in Woodbridge and I wish I could go back to last year and start there. I handed the worker the packet of paper work I’ve accumulated over the past year and she looked through it and replied “I’m sorry but you don’t need ANY OF THIS.” And I was able to get my car registered and the title signed over to me right there. So the DMV in Arlington wasted a year of my time for no reason other than they don’t know how to do their jobs. I was charged late registration fees on my vehicle because they swore they couldn’t register it without 30 separate documents. Literally just go anywhere else. Any other DMV. Save yourself the headache.

Came here with my wife before closing on a Wednesday afternoon. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, even made jokes with customers. Only complaint was they registered my car in the wrong county and I now have to deal with figuring out how to get it registered correctly. Otherwise, a shockingly good experience overall.

No
No, they do not renew licenses. Learned that the hard way.
I went there yesterday and the guard at the front desk said they were closed do to covid19 and for most transactions you have to have a appointment
Yes, I did in November.
No - unfortunately the DMV select locations do not issue or renew drivers licenses. You'll need to go to a full DMV.
Yes title and registration
No
I don't know. The Virginia DMV Selects are by appointment only. I didn't find that out until I got there.
No, there you have to make an appointment online at a different location.
Currently everything is done by appointments.
And
Not sure but I was returning tags and the security guard took the plates at the door. I didn't have to go inside. But be aware of the parking, there's none. I got towed in literally 5 minutes because I parked in the Giant grocery store and walked over..
I buyed a car, how a can do to get new title and plate asap, only what I need. Thank so much.
Should be
Appointment only but at the va square and or four mile run. This Clarendon location is closed
Location is closed until further notice.
The office is closed to the public.
I believe that you can, but those are temporary till the DMV mails out the permanent ones.
No, you will need to go to the full service DMV. Located on Four Mile.
I don't have any clue
How to pay toll tickets
Hello, good morning, I would like to change the address of my car registration and I could not do it online
Yes you can
Yes
You can't get an ID at the DMV select, you need to go to a full service DMV --- drivers license requirements and instructions are here: https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/drivers/#eligibility.asp#new
Y es u should b able to
Yes. They do license reissues whether lost or if something is not correct on it. Just bring your current vehicle registration and ID.
They ask for ID of the person who registers the plates
Yes. And it takes minutes.😁
You will have to get temp tags from Massachusetts, then drive the vehicle here. Then re-register your vehicle here in VA. However, you will have to first pass an emissions test and bring that certification, title, and temp tags to a VA DMV to complete the registration. Once you have the title and tags transferred to VA, I would contact the Massachusetts DMV to notify them the vehicle is no longer in that state. There maybe a small property tax they will expect you to pay for the duration of time that vehicle was registered there under your ownership. They should let you know that. Btw...in Va you have a 30 day window to register any new vehicle, unless you're military. Different rules apply to military transfers.
Unfortunately, no. Not a service they offer.
Yes, they do most services except issuing IDs.
You can obtain a Trip Permit from DMV (you can do it online). It is valid for 3 days and the cost is $5.00 if you already have insurance on the car, or $45.00 if the car is not insured.
No, you have to go to a regular DMV. They only do titles here.
