Want to Albemarle SPCA for a rabies clinic. It was very well run.
Lucielle Parkway
I stood there for at least 15 minutes while others were helped before and even behind me and were asked if they needed help. They never once asked if I did. I feel as though these employees that work here are prejudice and need help on ethics and proper etiquette towards EVERYONE.

The animals are well taken care of. Many pets to choose from. A lot of cats. Very nice people.

Honestly, the animals are precious but the staff has absolutely no customers service skills. Out of all the times I've been there I've never been acknowledged the staff members literally will look at me and continue to do what ever they were doing; keep in mind that I will be standing in line waiting to be assisted but they won't even acknowledge my presence. At first I thought it was a lack of customer service but after experiencing this with multiple employees it seems racist because they treat the white customers completely different. Overall I believe their racist. It is appalling that people can devote their time to helping animals and lack common courtesy with their human counter parts. Improvement is a must.

Yes you can!
Yes the donation bin usually sits outside
Never free, you are paying the cost of spay/neuter, shots and housing. Price depends on size and age. Larger adult dogs are cheapest.
This is a no kill shelter
You can see all the animals that they have for adoption at their website
The SPCA will provide supplies as long as you are fostering
Keep calling. C-19 has put even more of a strain on staff.
I would call them. They are extremely helpful.
I am not certain, but when I went there just at opening they had a table full of stuff, which so.eone came out and brought into the shelter. Food, crates etc. I assume that was stuff that had been left as donations since they were last open
Yes we are 😊 feel free to call us for more information if you need to surrender a pet or if you have found a stray and we will be more than happy to help!
Good question , they did my pit , and I live in a different county . Just depends on the situation .
They will also fix them. One cat that is not fixed can result in 60000 kittens over its life and the livea of its offspring. They will fix feral cats as well and even provide a trap to catch them so u can bring them in, get them fixed and then release them again. Please call and ask about the services they provide
I would call and ask. Mostly i think these questions are answered by people who do not work there.
You should be able to just give them a call to ask
If you mean unlicensed, yes. If you have no shot records, or a vet to call for them, you'll start at ground zero. Try to hit the monthly clinic that does rabies, microchip, spay and neuter. Also, they sell the licenses there. Cheap!
He is probably showing his affection for you. Also when cats play together they bite each other playfully, which can be hard since they have a thick fur. We don't so it was can be pretty painfully. Also when a cat had had enough attention, they sometimes bite and walk or run away. Remember, you do not own your cat, he owns you ;-)
They have tons of both. Also don't hesitate to give an older or adult cat a chance. They need love too
The camp is for rising 3rd to 6th graders. I had to look as I don't work there. Go to caspca.org and it's under services.
That's something you'd need to discuss with the adoption coordinator. I'd ask for an opportunity for foster to adopt.
Check to see if she has something in her throat if not take her to the vet.
You can surrender that dog to them. Hopefully it's not a pitbull mix because they have so many of those already.
What are you trying to say? Your sentences don't make much sense.
When they turn 1 year old
They may sometimes they don't have it on their website but can call or go by. Also if they where brought in from another shelter may be able to adopt now. They can really be not so helpful at times and straight out rude. At times they seem like they don't won't to be bothered with helping saw this first hand the other day was very disappointed in them.
Yes, they do
yes ... the SPCA will take in animals of any age ... I believe there are restrictions on the type of animals ... but cats qualify for sure ... and they are a NO KILL shelter
16 sounds right to me. (I don't really know) But I do know that anyone can make a big difference just by spending time with some lonely dogs and cats! Im sure if you aren't old enough you could still walk with someone (maybe your parent) who has signed up to walk dogs, or hang out with some cats when they let them out into the cat room. I'd recommend calling the shelter or just stopping by. (if you can) They should be able to tell you about all the options they have!
Long enough. Nice facility. Not old enough to try to sell them windows or a new roof. :)
If you go to the website and look under the section for spaying & neutering, it will explain the process. You sign up for it & they will contact you for further instructions.
You have to be a resident of Albemarle County or Charlottesville to surrender a animal to the Charlottesville SPCA
I have 2 female chihuahuas I need to rehome, 1 year old, spayed, chipped and shots up to date
Spca took care of all neutering spayding and vaccines on a sliding scale !!!
I'm pretty sure they would be grateful ..
If you live in Albemarle County, it is about $60
Oh yes!
Unless you're a senior citizen (who get discounts) no dogs of any size are free. Also, Patricia, you should call the SPCA and see what they have. This is Google maps, not the SPCA, so we have no way of knowing what they have for adoption. Good luck!
Also call the county shelters an let them know, post on Facebook if you have an account.
I don't work at the SPCA, but i do know they hold all animals for a period of time before they are put up for adoption.
What is your question? Or were you making a statement? I do know that even in no kill shelters, there are cases where they have to put an animal down. Besides serious disease, some animals have been so abused that they will never be adoptable, and they must be humanely euthanized.
yes if you would like to volunteer go to there website and see if they can help.
