A BIT DISAPPOINTED after we showed up for the Anniversary of the Great Little Train Robbery only to find out they were charging "$10 ,today (instead of $6), but you get free popcorn..." 🤔 I also thought there was going to be a reenactment, but instead there was just some guy in cowboy costume in the gift shop pretending to steal stuff inside gift shop. Train ride was great as usual, but I expected more than just hearing the story about the robbery on the train speaker which was difficult to hear. Im sure we'll still be back sometime.

Went for a Saturday morning stroll and this park is adorable. The trails are short, mostly paved and easy. So, an expert hiker might get bored. There are some unmarked trails that you can take for some short "off-roading" and exploring. Most of the maps had the "you are here" dot on the legend, but didn't have the dot on the actual map to indicate where you are. The trails are easy enough to find and figure out, just a slight inconvenience. There are small parking areas throughout the park and trails.

Overall very pretty locale. Be prepared to walk up and down large steps. Partially handicap accessible. Not very large and can be viewed in full in less than an hour. And that's with taking your time.

This park is great! Beautiful scenery and huge trees! Nice park to watch wildlife such as cormorants, egrets, ducks, herons and squirrels! Great for families, kids, and walking the dog or the occasional cat. It’s just a shame that the city is trying to displace the herons and egrets and other wildlife by removing their homes, 105 trees just to make the park more urbanized, more structures- less big trees. #savebrackparktrees 🌳🌲🐾

Yes great place to do so. But please remember it is a public place, so please come prepared to pick up after your pet.
The park is FREE and you can take food and drinks
If you are getting one of the pavillions, I believe you need t reserve it and pay for it, but if is a small group I think you can just get one or 2 picknick tables from anywhere in the park. For free. By the big pavillion, by the train station, the zoo entrance, in front of the Japonese Tea Garden, baseball fields, by the river or by the trails. ItI think if you get there by 5pm you get still get to choose. You can also bring your own table and set it whatever you please. I love this park. I walk there every morning. Bring bug spray, just in case.
Yes is free but if you going to the Zoo there is a charge go early 😁 Any across the freeway 281 & Hildebrand some construction is going now it probably a new zoo😁
You can park an rv at the sunken gardens next to the tea gardens, there is definitely plenty of space at that section, but don't try to park across from the zoo, that section is always crowded and full and most likely difficult to park an rv. And parking is free
Yes
Yes. You can
Not on a regular basis. However, weekends during the warmer months, the park can be packed with people.
No charge for parking or japanese tea gardens, its $4 to ride the train.
Parking is free. As of 6/1/2019 smoking is prohibited in all San Antonio parks.
The train ride is 4 bucks park is free if you can find a spot to park
Yes.The Brackenridge Eagle miniature train ($3.50), an old-fashioned carousel ($2.50) and the Japanese Tea Gardens.
If you buy a Fun Day ticket online it includes a ticket to the Zoo, the butterfly exhibit, and a train ride. It costs $21.99 online
bread is really bad for the ducks, it interferes with their system. Corn, birdseed, peas, greens, duck pellets, greens...more of a healthier alternative. I'm expecting some backlash from this but the research is out there :)
Clearly these other people don’t know what they’re talking about, in the state of Texas you have to be 18 and up to need a license to fish, 17 and under do not need one

I know let them clinb
They got one there
You can put tents ⛺ in day times but not overnight.
At Brack the area closest to the Witte museum and baseball diamond is going to be your best bet for securing a table with a grill. Take a scraper and something to sanitize it with. Likewise, make sure to clean the seating area. Birds sometimes land on it and they're pretty filthy. I've even seen vultures atop a table and they eat carrion so yes, don't ingest harmful bacteria.
Not sure would have to check with park police. My understanding is that it doesn't have camp sites at all
Yes
I would call the Park Police non emergency number. I'm sure if it's a regular small mini bike you can. Gas powered? Electric? Make sure it's up to date with standards and has all lighting and equipment. These are NOT ALLOWED on any trail or sidewalk.
Not sure you might want to call and ask the times that the train is running
Yes it's free with free parking except the pavilion you have to rent it Out the zoo is also there and the train ride which you have to pay for also but the park itself is free nice family park
I did see people walking their dogs but I did not see any horses. I found this. https://www.brackenridgepark.com/p/things-to-do/211. Tells all about it. Apparently there is a section. Link has all the info you need 🙂
No, take many as you want, take a pic of him.
There are different areas that you can park at. There are some picnic tables near the water, near the zoo, near the playground. It really is whatever your preference is.
Brackenridge does not have volleyball courts, no.
Brackenridge is large but 2 hrs is enough to see the park it's self. Adding the Japanese Tea Garden your excursion will take 3-4 hours.
I dont think so. I didnt see anything for it
There are fish to be caught but I have better luck in cooler months. A kayak works great.
Roughly 5-10 inside then about 10 out on the deck
No the river isnt big enough and if it was, it's not that clean. No swimming, fishing, or canoeing allowed
Yes. Not a lot. I was there at 9:00 and it looked like they were all taken already. Go early!
There are spots to do that. I've seen people fishing
They are correct. They have a kiddy train with all the whistles and a tunnel.
Yes
I already deleted the photos but the other one that goes with pleasure sent him photos the park is very well maintained and very clean
Like 20+ years ago
I say done one fishing in the river near the zoo, but not sure it was legal or not.
Yes
Yes, you can take pictures almost everywhere.
No do not answer i went there
I have no idea but, I have seen people riding their bike there.
Pretty well lit and get pretty slow towards the evening on weekdays but stays busy all day on weekends. I'm unsure about alcohol it's never come up for me.
Sure
I believe by summer of 2019
I do not believe you have to pay for bench areas, however, the pavilions do have a cost. I suggest you call 311 to inquire.
No...only truly certified service dogs are permitted. Don't fake it
Yeah but get there early, ready alot of people have marked their spot for many years, a tradition to some, be prepared with parking, supplies and don't camp alone, seen people move gear while camper goes away for awhile...
3.50+ tax
I don't think so the lake it,s to small. There is a sign to not drop any fish in the pond
I have no idea I did stop by kind a late in the afternoon
I don't no ABOUT that.
Free for the park, yes its stroller free and the zoo costs $17.50 per person 14.95 for kids under 2 free but it is a huge zoo and to really enjoybit you need to get there when they open and go thru it there is also a petting zoo and a place where your kids can play in the water, as well as a playground for them to play on and much more well worth the money and experience.
Free parking by zoo, and pavilion and baseball field.
Not sure. I've seen people fishing in the river there before, but I'm not sure if it's actually allowed. If it is though, make sure you have a freshwater fishing license and you'll be golden.
No sad to see it go 😢
No i don't think so because the safety of the other people it's a public park
At Zolojico I thought it was $ 15: 50 Dollar
Yes you can, but you will need a license. Its not stocked by the city, so you may only catch perch.
I googled it and yes you can fish at Breckenridge Park.
Yes you can Woodlawn, Brackenridge and Wheeler Parks and the Earl Scott Pond are stocked approximately once a year with channel catfish that average 9-inches in length. Additionally, Brackenridge is stocked twice each winter with trout that average approximately 8-10 inches. A valid fishing license with a freshwater stamp endorsement is required to take fish or other aquatic life from the public waters of Texas. Recreational fishing licenses and stamp endorsements can be purchased at local sporting goods stores, gun shops, department stores, discount stores, bait and tackle shops, grocery stores or at the local Texas Parks and Wildlife Office, 858 W. Rhapsody.
No, it's free. Finding parking may be difficult today
No swimming allowed. Back in the days, people would play in it where the bridge is next to the train station but it's prohibited now.
No
The only time you are allowed to camp overnight in Brackenridge is Easter weekend.
The water is the San Antonio river. It is mild to hot, with the exception of December through February. And even then, a much milder Winter than most of the U.S.
We have been there at noon then at 2 then 4 . Ee have rented field befire frim 8pm to 10pm they are always locked we go to the train station till it closes at 6. so where are we supposed to go or take our kids? This has been liked that since they remodeled them.
Have to have at least 24 to 48 hours in advance you can either call the city for the number or you can Google Brackenridge on Google Map and call for reservations for a pavilion
I have not seen a no skating sign, so I assume one can. A skate park would be a pretty cool addition 🤔
There is a small area where I see people fishing regularly. Closer to the bridge. This is entering from Hildebrand St.
Lots of free pic nic areas depending on side of your party. Suggest go drive the park and scout the pad sites. More access to restrooms in center of park near zoo. Nite no alcohol allowed, not that you'd have that at baby shower....lol
Access to the park is free. There are various entrance points to access the park. There is an admission if you want to go to the zoo which is right next to the park. Also there is a train ride which you also have to pay.
