A "hole" lot of fun! We are new to Alabama and are granddaughters came to visit this summer. Google the fishing hole nearby and Mardis falls popped up. Our teenage grandkids (and me) had so much fun they begged to stay longer and to go again. It's beautiful and panoramic. There is a rope to swing into the water. The waterfalls are beautiful. Depending on whether or not there has been rain will determine how deep the water is. I also recommend children be 5 years and older due to the rocks and access to the swimming hole. The trail to walk down to the swimming hole is a rocky trail and there is no beach front. No actual parking lot. But there are a limited number of places to pull over off the road (roughly 10 cars).

Absolutely beautiful! A few rocks to climb down. Be careful... also a little bit of graffiti but the fall is gorgeous!

Was not expecting such a pretty neat place. Looks like a great little swimming hole in the summer time. Small parking area for about 10 cars. Not a far walk to the falls from parking area. Trail follows stream but we didn't get to walk it today. Definitely need to come back and explore.

Nice area. Beautiful waterfall & stream. Seem like a hotspot for local - so many families were swimming when i was there.

You won't be able to set camp right at the bottom of the waterfall. But yes, you should be able to follow the stream and find a place to set a small camp for the night in one of the other areas that are a bit away from it.
