I visited the Loggerhead Marinelife Center for an Everglades Foundation training! Beautiful facility doing amazing work protecting turtles! There are summer camps available and the facilities are incredible! Thank you for hosting us today!

They only had a few turtles when we visited. But, that is a good thing! It was interesting to walk around and see the turtles and pick up some cute souvenirs in the gift shop.

Voluntary donations at the door. Very interesting and educational. Many fun facts and important information about turtles. Great for adults and children. The center is under a complete renovation which will be completed by April 2022.

Very cool rehabilitation center for various sea turtles in the loggerhead area. They're currently undergoing extensive construction so was only able to see 3 turtles. The main hub of the facility is currently shut down but still very cool to walk through. They operate on donations so anything helps!

Yes, we do consider HS students for our internships. More info here: https://marinelife.org/about/careers/ Thank you.
Yes
Call or check the website as they are always having events for the public. It's open to the public and you can visit with the turtles undergoing rehab and check out the gift shop as well as the marine exhibits. They have a great beach with picnic tables too!
They are having turtle fest this weekend
Florida nesting starts as early as March. Better chance to see hatchlings in June.
Yes, they do. Call them and you'll be set up.
From what I was told if any if the turtles can't be released within 18 months (as Loggerhead is a short term facility); the turtle will go to a long term facility. Also if during the time if they need an MRI etc there are local hospitals that accommodate. 🙂
Love this place. So nice to take the kids to a free facility to learn about such beautiful animals and how they lay their eggs and why we don't mess with turte eggs!
Hi Jen, Thank you for your message. Our website host is currently working to get our site back up and running, thank you for your patience.
Any end of month 28 to 30ok..thank you
Hi Isaiah, We do not charge an admission fee to enter our facility. Being a non-profit organization, we ask for a small donation upon your arrival, but it is not required. Hope you enjoy your visit.
We have a cafe with snacks, ice cream and drinks!
depends on the prevailing winds.. .if strong and from the east there could be a small impact
There are plenty of restaurants and food places nearby. I can personally recommend Lana Thai, but almost right next to it is a sandwich place and a Publix, in the plaza on the other side there's a Kirby's, a couple of health food places, a Chinese restaurant(not good), and a couple of other options, and very near is also a seafood restaurant, The Thirsty Turtle which has different kinds of food, and a few other places. There are lots of options...
Take a photo. Dont waste their time. They are trying to save sea turtles.
Better than expected. We love our sea turtles. Any loss is of course heartbreaking. If you haven't already signed up for an evening turtle walk, please do. The educators are professional and knowledgeable. Don't approach the turtles until you understand the amazing gift God gave us. The ocean is magic and the people at Loggerhead are exceptional. Get your kids involved and help clean the beach every month. Keep the lights low at night. Protect our beautiful home.
