Very cool experience. What an amazing structure! The only disappointment was we could not drive across it. The dam is 717 feet high!!

This is one of the tallest dams in the world. It is very impressive. The have scheduled tours of the dam where you go deep inside, then take an elevator to the top, and walk about 1/2 the distance across the top. In the museum there are stuffed animals of the local wildlife, a model of the dam and the reservoir. You can watch short films about the dam, the most interesting is the last river run logging film.

Visitor center was very pleasant. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the dam. Our kids are young and even really enjoyed playing upstairs and learning all about how the dam worked and the wildlife around the area.
