One of the better beaches in Coos bay/Charleston. Huge stretch of beach for dogs to run and have fun, without being distracted from people being to close. Fun for kids and family activities as well. Only issue is they dont have any restrooms on site.

20 degrees cooler and nice breeze yesterday compared to downtown area.

For being such a large park, the sites were laid out so you didn't feel like you were on top of each other. The walk to the beach was very nice, a little longer than we expected for us old folks.

Beautiful beach but you have to go during a week day or get there really early if it's nice out. This is where a lot of the tourists go because it's the biggest beach on the Coos County coast, so locals usually avoid it. I have some of my best memories in these sands. If you're kids need a fun, safe beach to run around and get all their energy out, this is the place. If you find the wind too much to deal with, theirs also a park uphill from the beach with a play ground. It's surrounded by trees so the wind is cut down drastically but still can be pretty powerful. If you manage to go here at night and find a bonfire, it's most likely locals. You'll find out within 15 feet if they are friendly or not. Most of the time they are friendly, the ocean has a way of drawing good people to it, like a magnet.

Yes but you can no longer be there overnight!! New rules do to the amount of homeless they had accumulating over there unfortunately no one gets the privilege of using the beach
BLM changed the law as of May 1st 2018 because people were trashing it and trying to live there. No longer free camping, just day use available ♡
Free camping provided by the Bureau of Land Management. 24 hour limit and no facilities. Also, some free camping on county land next to the BLM area. Nice beach!
I'd call to be sure..
$20.36 I know this because my girlfriend works there. 😁 Hope that helps.
Yes very large nice rv spots
Not at this breach but just down the road at Sunset Beach there are several that take you along the seaside cliffs. I use an app called AllTrails to locate trails too

Nope, not at all. But it's well worth it. It's a nice clean place with restrooms and showers. .. we were literally there just a few weeks ago I have no idea what these people are talking about day use only we spent nine days there not for free but yeah.
Check the web site. They do have sites with power and water. When we where there they where quite full so make sure to book in advance. We booked months in advance, not saying that's what you have to do. We had a big part 18 people. To get sites together that's what we did. Enjoy your stay there, it's really nice. Clean facilities and literally just a hundred yards or so away from the beach
Last time I was there you could pick a water only or full hook up which has both but I can't remember the prices.
Yes and 100 yds
McKay in empire or Davey Jones locker party store gas a bit of everything
I'm not sure about the main bathroom showers get locked but the shower in the bathroom in the campground loop are always open if the campground is open.
Only in the winter if you get an exception
The sites are first come first serve. Either camping on the beach, or parking your camper in the lot.
Go to Google maps on your cell phone. Type in camp grounds in Charleston. And you will find all the information you need😀
I don't know if any spots are open but I understand you can stay one night on the beach. When I was there, there were a few groups camped for at least 3 days on the beach.
15 i believe but do yourself a favor and make a reservation its full alot
