This was my second (and last) time buying food there. The first experience was bad but I thought that I would give them another try. Big mistake. I ordered the oxtails with rice, peas, cabbage and plantains. The oxtails were small bite size pieces with little meat on them and very sweet (too much sugar in the oxtails!) The rice and peas were hard and the cabbage portion was small. All this mess costs me over $20! No wonder its never crowded, the food is not good. If they dont change their game, they wont be around much longer.

Last weekend my wife and I went on a date and stopped in on this hidden gem called Sunsplash Caribbean restaurant LLC located at 52 W Mercury Blvd, Hampton, VA 23669. Unfortunately, YELP has not updated its data base for this location. Based on the portions show below, recommend their spicy beef Pattie’s. In addition we also ordered their jerk chicken and snapper meals that came with cabbage and beans and rice. The snapper was at least 1 inch thick.We we’re amazed and excited to see the portion sizes which were plentiful for anyone wanting a mouth watering meal that also remembers me of a great home cooked meal. You will not be disappointed. Check out the yellow and green restaurant near the the Atomic Comics Emporium.

I ordered spicy jerk chicken. The chicken was really good with lots of flavor. The meal came with two pieces of plantain, cabbage and peas and rice. The cabbage was really good. The plantains are probably good if you like them. The peas and rice were also good as well. I would not have chosen the plantains or cabbage as part of my meal. I prefer to have a choice of sides. I was not given a choice. When I asked about side after I ordered. I was then informed what sides came with the meal. The menu is very small without much selection. I was also expecting a lunch menu. They do not offer a lunch menu. They do have lunch specials. But the selection changes by the day.

Goat was good but portions were small, peeved because they charged me extra for what I thought would be real jamaican yams and provisions, instead I got SWEET POTATO. I honestly feel scammed :-(. Other order = a few pieces of goat and a TON of rice. Don't mind paying $17 for food but would expect my money's worth! Tried to call about this error with the yam but phone didn't work. Not going back to RIP OFF CARIBBEAN.
