Let me begin with the positive. The morning breakfast was fabulous. IMO restaurant quality. And that young lady making those omlettes was amazing. I don't know how she and the other staff keep up with the crowd. A great selection of breakfast foods and a super friendly staff. Negative part was the room wasn't very clean. My room needed a few maintenance repairs such as a shower curtain rod that I feared might fall down. I figure that they are short on help which is why the rooms aren't cleaned more often. Those days of having someone come into your room daily and change bedsheets and replace towels are over as people don't seem to want to work anymore. So, this place is pretty good but with more help it would be great.

I stayed here the last week of May 2022- I was in town for work. My stay was superb, but I expected that, as I have stayed here previously and had good experiences every time. In particular, Hannah the Bartender was a standout staff member- she ran the bar 2 of the nights I was there, and she was an absolute gem when she was tending bar! The atmosphere she created in the bar ensured that everyone that showed up for the Manager's Happy Hour had a good time- she was friendly, professional, and very upbeat! The other bartenders were also fine, but she definitely had it going on when she was working. Thank you Ma'am for an excellent time- TWICE!

I am currently staying here. The service is very good; almost all staff are courteous and friendly. The location is great; it's the hotel right next to the convention center and right across from the coliseum. There are restaurants and fast food places nearby, and Norfolk is only a few miles away (unfortunately depending on the hours, traffic can be an issue when attempting to cross the tunnel). Cleanliness could definitely be improved. Bed skirts were dirty and stained when we checked in, and our dogs found an old chicken leg under the couch. There was trash underneath the bed, and stains in some of the cabinets. The hallways and ground floor have crumbs and other small debris scattered about. Overall, not a bad place to stay, as the layout is very nice. Definitely needs some more attention to detail though.

Pros: Overall, I had a pleasant stay here. The rooms are clean and spacious; I really appreciated the fact that the "living" area was in the front of the room and the beds were in the back behind a separate door. The beds were comfortable enough. I was pleasantly surprised that the water wasn't super soft like most hotels. The bath towels were very soft (bonus) and shower had decent water pressure. I am a big fan of the 2 free drinks and snack bar at happy hour. Didn't try any meals from the restaurant, although I noticed you had to order from the bar. Cons: I was not impressed with breakfast. I was happy to see a lady there taking made-to-order omelette orders, but she used so much butter that you could clearly taste it. I arrived at 5PM and my room wasn't ready. I also had to awkwardly stand around for a few minutes before someone arrived to assist me. The halls didn't seem to be cleaned regularly, as I walked through crushed Cheetos outside someone's room for a few days. Housekeeping seems to work odd hours, as I could hear them vacuuming in the room above me and scraping something (off the floor?) at 8:30 PM.
