Great scenic route! You can find some spots to watch the lake along the road. We visited in summer and riding bike in the early morning was so refreshing.

Went for the color tour. We had more color in Harrison! I guess we where 2 weeks early, said our wonderful waitress.

Beautiful weather. Went the weekend of October 15-17. Although peak colors haven't quite arrived, it was a great trip. Very narrow road. Plenty of scenic parking spots to snap photos. Plenty of roadside shops to stop at.

I think we went to early this year because the colors haven't changed, but it was still a beautiful day. There are small cute towns to stop in to do a little shopping and get snacks. Makes for a nice relaxing drive.

Peak color now!
Yes
The weather was absolutely gorgeous for mid October. It was in the mid 60's. Driving through the tree tunnel with the window down.
Should still be good. They were still turning on the 13th.
The road goes both ways. It is the same road for both directions so it is the same distance and amount of time to travel.
There are a few places to pull off, but a considerable amount of the road is narrow. Barely 2 cars wide.
We didn't see anything of those, basically its very small stretch of road completely covered with trees
We drove north to south, and had much, much less traffic in our lane
I'm sorry. I don't live in that area. I'm further down state. Maybe Harbor Springs Chamber of Commerce could help.
I would try to go by the second week in October.
The tunnel is still green, lots of color all around. Very pretty still
Yes, traveling north from Harbor Springs, restaurants and shops were open. Part way in Good Heart and Middle Village there were restaurants and shops open and at the end the infamous Leggs Inn and all shops in Cross Village were open. Wait time for a table at Leggs Inn around 4:30 pm was 2.5 hrs. So make sure you have a snack.
Ok. Planning to visit october 3rd. Thank you
Not a whole lot, be better in a week or so
Pretty good, pops of bright color mixed with a lot of green hues. Better in a week or so
According to the Detroit Free Press, the peak this year for Michigan's northern lower peninsula is September 28th. This week would be the best time for the colors and the weather looks beautiful so far. :) I hope this helps. 💓
I went through there on the 3rd of September still green.
I wanna take the drive also but not sure if the color changes will be pretty the first week of October.

Not sure. Went there two weeks ago. Think it was at peak then.
We went on the 11th still green. It's not a relaxing ride. If you do go try for a week day. It was bumper to bumper . They ride up was beautiful!
I'd wait for this cold front too hit. 2 weeks from now should be perfect
It's a little early....not much change yet
May want to hold out another week or two if you can. Having a good cold front come through kicks it off for the leaves
It's worth the trip if you're in town, if you're looking to time a visit, definitely go in late September or early October
Yes, starting the fade
You might get some
Around Oct. 15th
The road is winding, and extensively so, not to mention narrow. It has a low speed limit. It would be difficult to maneuver a trailer through there. My suggestion, if you are camping at Petoskey, Wilderness or Burt Lake would be to take a day trip while you are camping and enjoy a lunch or dinner at Leggs in at Cross Village at the end of the tunnel.
Just went thru, today(10-21)on the scooter. It was a great ride(As always), but colors are not peak yet, maybe in a week or so.
I would not hesitate to go. We were there on the 12th and there was some color. If it is a sunny day I say go.
Lots use google maps to search theses areas around traverse city and surrounding towns like lelleand, suttons bay, Glen Arbor and petosky etc
Should be great, pending weather
No, there isn't one near the actual tunnel of trees but there is one closer to Petosky at the South end of the tunnel of trees scenic route.
Not yet
Tons of places in and around Traverse City. We're over by Turtle Creek Casino (for reference), and takes us about 1 hour 45 minutes to get to M-119 (Tunnel of Trees).
Just starting.
Mid to late October
Late September to mid October.
