The road is winding, and extensively so, not to mention narrow. It has a low speed limit. It would be difficult to maneuver a trailer through there. My suggestion, if you are camping at Petoskey, Wilderness or Burt Lake would be to take a day trip while you are camping and enjoy a lunch or dinner at Leggs in at Cross Village at the end of the tunnel.
You sure wouldn't enjoy the experience and neither would other road users. I'm sure it's possible but i definitely wouldn't advise it.
