Always accessible, mostly quiet. Fishing, boating, walking trails, picnic. Venue rental next to swimming beach. Large camping area-modern to tent. Google wanted an update....there's water in the lake now. Playground in camping area. Modern to nicer pit restrooms in all area except top picnic area. Dogs can walk trails with you. Lots of picnic space. Two sheltered areas for rent but when not rented still can be used. The modern one has indoor kitchen space that does need to be rented. Both have outdoor grills and picnic tables. The modern one has wheelchair accessible tables and modern restrooms.

Yes, Deep fire rings with grills that rotate over the top at every stop.
No the cafe/restaurant is closed this yr due to no one signing the contract for it. Their also draining the lake at this time.
Any size boat motors may be used on Viking Lake provided they are operated at "no wake" speeds.
It will not be open this year as we makes some repairs and improvements. We hope to have someone to run it again next year. Thanks!
Hello, Pam! If you'll have a camper on your site, you may also have a tent, as long as that tent is no larger than 8x10' in size, and the tent shall hold no more than four people. You're also limited to 6 people per campsite: No more than six persons shall occupy a campsite except the following: Families that exceed six persons may be allowed on one campsite if all members are immediate family and cannon logically be split to occupy two campsites Campsites which are designated as chaperoned, organized youth group campsites. Thanks for checking!
Everytime we camped we had to call ahead and just in case and to swim or fishing is free unless your 16 and up then you need fishing license good place to go

You can find weekly beach monitoring results at iowadnr.gov/beach. More information on the draw down: https://www.iowadnr.gov/About-DNR/DNR-News-Releases/ArticleID/2354/Public-meeting-to-discuss-Viking-Lake-water-level-draw-down
Hi! You can view our camping rates at iowadnr.gov/camping.
Sorry that we're not able to monitor Google 24/7. It's always best in these cases to call the park directly. Thanks!
I think it was $11 for tent camping. Very nice campgrounds
Sry., I don't know
Look at Iowa state parks on computer and check to see last i knew they still had maybe a few open.
No, but the trail going around the lake is nice. If you are looking for a trail connecting towns in SW Iowa, the Wabash Trace connects several towns from near the MO border to Council Bluffs. At the northern end, you can link with the CB/Omaha trail system. But that trail does not reach to Viking Lake.
Yes
I think most State parks are open until last of October. Some county parks are open all year around but shower houses may close eariler. If you look up iowadnr.gov it may give you more in detail.
