It was devastated may be 2 years repairing we were volunteering there when the evac happened
It is primitive, tent only camping. Yes, make a reservation. I was able to get in three weeks later, but the ranger said they are normally months out.
6 people 2 tents per campsite. I would guess actual measurements to be about 15x20 feet.
Looked to me like camping was still not available 😕
For now, no overnight until the campgrounds are done with construction. The ranger advises they are waiting for a permit to begin construction. The Park closed at sundown for now.
I payed $25.
Sorry don't know the answer to that question call non emergency police number they can help.
Was just on the website. Reopen when construction is completed. I would call the camp manager. They would know.
Sorry... I don't have an answer for you. You may want to call the campground and ask them directly.
Yes, it's open now the campsites are still under construction. Enjoy!
I really don't know... But I have seen RV's at the park. Suggestion "call the park and talk to the rangers and they will give you all the information you need. You will enjoy the park... if you want it bring it, there are not that many stores in the area...!
I don't know contact the park the hurricane wiped out most if not all the camp sites
From the signs at the entrance Until further notice
There is not a rest area located there.
Yes you can kite board from the beach there but watch your skegs as it's quite shallow with rocks right at the shoreline. If you go just north across the street there is also a very good launch.
Admission 1 Person: $4.50 2+ People: $5.00 + $0.50 per person Pedestrians and bicyclists: $2.50 each Camping $43 per night. Additional service fees may be charged by the reservation service. Reserve your campsite with ReserveAmerica or call 1-800-326-6521. However there is NO CAMPING DUE TO DAMAGE FROM HURRICANE IRMA
Fishing is allowed with valid FL saltwater fishing license and only taking approved species. Fishing is not allowed in the swimming areas. Ask a ranger to get help on where fishing is allowed. They can show you specific spots to avoid. Have fun, enjoy the park, and support the park with your fees.
Day visits are open now, camping is not open.
Yes you can and good fish that are caught there too
Yes, though not currently, as they are rebuilding and renovating after a hurricane caused significant damage. They have reopened for day visitors, so you can call during regular business hours and get updates for RV camping.
Yes there is a gift shop and yes they sell books on nature. I am not sure about children's books. Best bet is to call them and ask.
Camping area was destroyed by Irma ...still not open....day use beach open was small but they are expanding a little this week....bring water shoes if swimming ....lots of sea grass
No, they don't offer anything like that. This park doesn't have any captive animals.
Just came from there. It's only open for day use. All the campsites are closed, destroyed. We were told it may never open again. So sad we had been camping there for 16 years.
The snorkeling is fantastic. We actually left Bahia Honda for there.
It is a state park. Crystal clear water great for snorkeling, lots of wildlife. Not much in way of beach. There is also still some storm debris, but in MUCH better shape than Bahia Honda. You might also consider Curry Hammock just a bit farther, well worth the visit at either one. Just save time and don't go to Bahia Honda as it was heavily damaged. No Atlantic access there.
All reservations are made through Reserve America. The park's reservations are currently closed through 2018 as there is no campground.
Just came from there. It's only open for day use. All the campsites are closed, destroyed. We were told it may never open again for camping they have no idea how long. There is no restoration going on, nothing. So sad we had been camping there for 16 years.
All the camping is closed the sites were demolished. Park is only open for day use picnic area. It may never open again for camping ☹
The plan was that they were planning on shutting it down to rebuild the shores even before the hurricane for a year so I'd check in with them on that.
Park is closed due to post Hurricane Irma damage unknown when reopening ???
