A very good experience staying at the Holiday Inn Express… I always stay at a Holiday Inn. I like the hospitality and the ambience always - it gives me the peace of mind that I want. The hotel is nice and clean and spacious enough depending on the occupancy. The staff is supportive and understanding and helpful. Would recommend to stay at this place.

These people are amazing!! My room was super clean. Our reservations were oddly canceled at another hotel near the race. Worked out GREAT!! And the waffle house nearby was AWESOME! And it's not as close to the race, but better neighborhood. And really still close to the race. We'll stay here anytime we're nearby!!

I was greeted by Angie who checked me in. She's very people oriented and has a lovely, fun personality. Everything about our guest room was 5 gold stars. Comfortable bed, beautifully decorated as well as the bathroom. Great lighting in the bathroom too! My husband enjoyed a dip in the pool. Overall an excellent experience and would recommend to anyone looking for an extended stay or a one nighter just passing through. We were made to feel very special as IHG Gold Elite Rewards Club members.

A little more research on my part could have prevented one of the issues I faced during this stay. The sound isolation between rooms was very good (or everyone was very quiet), but the noise from outside is like you have a window open. It's right across an access road from a truck stop/travel plaza and the traffic is CONSTANT nearly all night. Plus, it would seem that this particular stretch of road is a favorite for everyone that has a loud exhaust on their vehicle and wants to show it off. This was well into the early morning hours. So, sleep was hard to come by. This particular issue is obviously not the fault of the staff, but it still made this a poor stay. I was also greeted by 3 identical bugs over the course of the first couple of nights. Not sure what they were, but they looked like a mini roach (pictures below). I talked to the front desk and they called in an exterminator the day I reported it, but then I had to be in the room that evening with pesticide fumes. I get that they have to treat the issue, but I think a room swap offer would have been under consideration since the room was being treated. The breakfast was pretty good. They have mini omelets, biscuits, sausage/bacon, cereal, cinnamon rolls, juice, etc. Overall, I can't recommend this location due primarily to its location. Sorry.
