This is definitely one of the best RV parks I've stayed in. Our site was well worth the two minute walk to the beach, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff and proximity to the amenities. We really enjoyed the activities, such as the beach campfire, seashell painting and karaoke, and the activities staff did an amazing job and they were so nice. Everywhere you looked a staff member was busy doing something to help the park looks and feel its best! We will definitely be coming back!

Beach! Beach! Beach! We have spend a week here the last thee years with our family of 6. Beach front area is the best part! At no fault of the campground, the biggest downside is there is literally nothing except a dollar general nearby. We have tried a few of the restaurants, but the only decent one is the pizza place that will deliver to the campground. You have to drive 30+ minutes to get to a grocery store, pharmacy or urgent care/hospital. This never was an issue until our last trip, when my husband and son got sick. Trust me, it’s a long drive to help! On the plus side, staff is always great. They have a nice pool, arcade, gift shop and dog park. Wash rooms are clean. Hopefully more will come to the area.

We enjoyed the location of this campground. We were traveling with two other campers, and they were able to put us all side-by-side. The kids loved the putt putt and playground area! The little self-serve recreation area was cool added bonus! Sunset on the sound side was beautiful! We did not enjoy the crowded beach, so we drove down to Pea Island and had a beach to ourselves! The camp staff were very friendly! Overall, great experience!

Our family loves to come to this campground. It is very kid and dog friendly. The bathrooms and grounds are clean and well maintained. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The campground is located right on the beach for easy access and they also have a great pool.

Yes but from what we were told you can't drive them on the streets without lights and proper permits. At least that's what the drunk lady told us as we were driving the streets.
Definately not at Camp Hatteras or nearby at KOA. Too many people on beach both early and late. National seashore south of Salvo and North of Avon does allow 4WD vehicles and 4 wheelers with permit from NPS.
Yes we stayed 2 weekends ago in one.
I work at Camp Hatteras. Check in is any time from 1:00 pm on. You can check in before then if the site is available. There is a $5 per hour charge.
You will need a salt water fishing license and they have either a 10 day or annual license. You can go online and get them or at one of the tackle shops on the island.
Yes. The have a conference "center" across the street from the clubhouse.
I did not see anyone do this, but staff is wonderful at helping answer questions. I would give them a call to double check.
No. We had 6 people at our site. It's $2 or $3 a day for additional people which basically covers water and electric usage. It's worth it though. We had an amazing time and the place is great!
No
No loud noises, music, shouting, etc after 10pm
Haven't been there those times of the year but I do believe I have seen them advertise it on their website
You'll need to lower your tire pressure to about 15lbs and 4wd is a must
As of today, no nonresidents are allowed access to hatteras island or Dare county.
The prices vary depending on the season and if you have a KOA membership. We have a class A coach and have never rented a cabin. Give them a call!
Just call and ask, they are very nice there.
Yes is on the sound side. Call the office with questions as well they are happy to help.
My understanding is that the KOA @ Rodanthe the pool is for campers staying inside the KOA camp grounds. If you park there you have to have a KOA parking sticker on display hanging up where it can be seen. Otherwise you are not allowed inside the camp ground.
I was just there last weekend. Our two sights did not have fire pits.
14 days is normal call them for longer stays
The county sprays in the park for mosquitoes, but there are still a few. There are gift shops, a Dollar General & restaurants close by. Major shopping is about 20 miles. They have an indoor heated pool & go tub. They also have an outdoor & kiddie pool. There is a fish cleaning station at their marina.
Not directly from the campground, but there are numerous access points along 12
Attitude is everything...
We were there before memorial day this year too, it was a bit windy and a little rough but some folks were swimming. You have to go day by day.
Not on the beach but next to it. There is a dune you walk through then your there. Was nice listening to the sounds of the ocean at night. Enjoy your visit of you go! The ferry to Ocracoke was fun to so while you are there.
I may have mine from when I stayed there. Their website shows the sites in groups, they do not and will not assign you a designated spot, only a group area. I'm guessing that is where you were headed with it
