You will need a salt water fishing license and they have either a 10 day or annual license. You can go online and get them or at one of the tackle shops on the island.
You can get a 5 or 10 day temporary fishing license at any Wal-Mart. None on Rte 12. 158 N. In Nags Head has several places to buy a license.
