Very popular and I see why there are so many accidents here. There was a bike in front of us using both lanes on blind turns. We think the western road leading to the tail was a lot more exciting to test out your skills. I didnt think there were 318 turns and pretty overrated. So many other roads we took on our way to the blue ridge parkway were just as twisted and less crowded.

So much fun! We drove it twice and it was a blast. I only had my family SUV, but I can see why the motorcycles and mustangs were flying by. Definitely recommend if you like driving. It's also nice that the scenery was so nice.

It's crazy every day! Last year there was a lot more bikes then this year so.... But go for sure. You'll have a blast!

I usually stay in robbinsville they might have something near by. Robbinsville is a out 14 miles from the gap ,they got few good restaurants, grocery store and by the time you get to the dragon your tires are ready to go and rock roll.be safe and enjoy,the best mechanic is wheeler. Hope you don't needed but if do , go there.

Not right there, but around in the area there are several mechanic's shops.
Pickup truck is ok. Semis and multi axle trucks have been outlawed. I would not advise a long RV or a truck and trailer. It makes it more dangerous for everyone on the road at the time.
