The scenery is awesome. Poplar trees that reach to the sky. The creek that pops up along the way makes for an outstanding visual and audio hike.

An absolutely beautiful place to go camping along the lake. The views are unbeatable, even just driving through. There’s plenty of firewood laying around. However, there is quite a bit of trash and our camping chairs we’re stolen.

This was an awesome experience. The trail we took was the two-mile loop that went to the memorial rock and old growth trees. These trees are incredible and the hike there was very enjoyable. Be aware, although short, the hike was moderately hard on the way there, going over some fallen trees and some good inclines. It goes over streams and it was pleasant, but you may want to pace yourself.

Great hike for beginners. The lower loop to the left is closed, however you can take the lower loop trial to the right l. It is accessible and will take you to the upper loop and back down. There are only port a potty’s available here. I would recommend good hiking boots due to tree roots are through 98% of the trail. There is also no cell phone signal anywhere near the trail. Bear warnings are posted so bring protection or at least a whistle.

I didnt see anything that didnt say no dogs allowed I mean it's a trail in the woods so I dont see why not. I will let you know that there is on part of it closed off and you just have to go on it from the upper entrance. Just letting you know.
When we went there were a couple of people walking alone. I was also there when somebody spotted a copperhead but we didn't see it. Personally I will do it
3.05 miles/1:45 to do one side of the lower loop and the complete upper loop, the left side of the lower loop is washed out. The upper loop has the old growth forest, definitely recommend that, it's a little over a mile to the upper loop. The lower loop has more elevation, so if you make it to the upper loop the rest should be no problem. My wife and I are in our early 60's and walked it with our 90 lb dog. Took our time and enjoyed it.
No, you can't drive through. You can drive to the start of the trail and that's a beautiful drive. But to get to the big amazing trees you have to walk the trail. If you are able to make the walk it's well worth it
Nope. But there are rustic "boondock" campgrounds
