Great option for camping & floating. Update from my most recent trip: The river is great, and the prices are decent. However, I would definitely avoid camping in the party area (Campground A) on the weekends. My party ended up leaving early due to other campers. They pushed trash into our campsite and then ran a diesel generator for almost 2 hours. No respect for other people or noise.

Nice campground right on the river. You can walk to where you put in for your float trip when you utilize the free 2 nights of camping that comes with a 1 day rental. There is even a cute little restaurant onsite and a small store at the campsite. Also a small store at the check in point.

Questions & Answers

Do they have cabins, are they nice?

Robbie Eaton | Apr 1, 2020
Christina Easter | Apr 2, 2020

The cabins are up on the hill, not down by the river. They aren't fancy, but they are comfortable. We got a good night's sleep before our float, which wouldnt have happened had we slept in a tent on the rocky ground.

Taking my kids during the week, but a little concerned after reading reviews of drunks, fights, stabbings, and flashing for beads. Are weekdays family friendly and should I reconsider and look elsewhere?

Keri Dickman | Apr 1, 2021
Tim Setliff | Apr 2, 2021

We floated there the Saturday before father's day and was super crowed, I was with my kids and grandkids, sure there was people drinking and having a good time but they were respectful and super helpful when someone needed it, if there was flashing our group never saw it, as any river or lake activity there's always the chance of disagreeable activity but I would recommend NRO to anyone that's wants to have fun!

I take my dogs at least 3 times every month. Don't tie them to the boat. Keep a good eye on them and you should be golden. I always use NRO, and my dogs easily fit on the kayaks, canoes, and rafts. ( NRO is the only place that allows dogs in rafts).
