Great state park located on Lake Wissota. Campground sites are large and well maintained. There’s a nice hiking trail that boarders the lake and provides great views! Lake access is easy by kayak/canoe through the beach or boat launch.

At first glance this may not seem like a great state park, but it really does have a lot to offer. There are miles of hiking trails (with little to no elevational change), horse riding trails, ball field, beach, nature center, boat landing and a great campground. All this while butted up to beautiful man-made Lake Wissota.

Even in the winter there's trails to hike, and animals to see. A great place to connect with nature. During the summer the campgrounds are nice and playgrounds/beach for the kids!

From what I saw when I was there it doesn't but, only half of the park was open when I went
Yes. If you have Cricket cellular you won't.
Park and campground are open, but beach is not, due to blue green algae.
Technically yes but if you are just going to drive through they probably won't stop you. Just don't park anywhere for too long.

The sites are very close together. Usually about 10 feet of trees and underbrush separate them.

The lake was created in 1918 when the Wisconsin-Minnesota Power and Light Company built a dam on the Chippewa River. The region's early history goes back more than 150 years to 1836, when Frenchman Jean Brunet built the region's first sawmill at the falls of the Chippewa River. Within a year it was ranked as one of the world's largest sawmills.
