This is a very popular high usage campground. Most sites are average spaced with some shade. Great place for families with children. Inside loops seem to be more level, outside loops have more of a slope but more shade. Biggest surprise is wildlife has no fear of humans. The deer, squirrels, blue jays, and crows are total beggars. Open a bag of chips and deer will come running! The hosts seem to encourage this behavior. Lots to do at Osage Beach and the lake. Kids are safe and can roam modern day freestyle.

Let me start by saying, there is not good cell service. I could send texts and receive calls but was unable to surf the web to search for things to do or initiate navigation from the campground to anywhere else. We booked an 8 night stay in Section 3 of the campground. From the beginning we were disappointed that the website didn't have site pics so we were really flying blind and it was hard to navigate the state park site to get a lay of the land for things nearby in the campground. Our site was in the hot hot midday sun which made for a miserable time in the 100°+ days we experienced while there. Our site had a power hook up and a good amount of flat shaded space behind it for the kids to play. All the neighboring kids would run around in the middle and it was easy to keep an eye on them. Let's talk about restrooms and bathhouses. We were situated between two. One was much smaller and had 4 bathroom/showers. Each bathroom had a shower in it. These were not super clean. I don't blame the park hosts, many of the campers were less than courteous to put it nicely. They constantly smelled like cigarettes and had ashes in the sink. But the hosts were always quick to clean up bigger issues like clogged toilets. They were also extremely hot in the extreme heat as they had no air. The bigger bathhouses were much much nicer. The park touts being the largest state park in Missouri and it is, but the issue is it is split by the lake. It took us over 30 minutes to get to the caverns. There was Public Beach #1 near us, just a short drive from our site or could be walked. I thought it was very picturesque. There were also deer everywhere and we saw two tiny fawns.

Great opportunity for an inexpensive camping trip or just a getaway for the day. The beach area is very nice but there are also camp sites right next to the water. Deer were moving calmly right next to me. Just a few feet away and not afraid.

The trails in this part of the ozarks are amazing, intertwining, up and down, and just magnificent to take a moment from your worries and wander. I especially enjoyed the area with waterfalls.

That is really hard to answer. Your best bet is to keep an eye on the fishing report that is put out by the Missouri Department of Conservation starting in March or April and it is a weekly report you can view online or call a department office and ask. The department also has a free book called Missouri Fishing Prospects it is updated yearly. Call your nearest conservation office for details.
I think so. I would definitely call.
Philip Ruiz, I talked to Misty with the State Park just now. Regular service is 30 amps. Cheers!
There are marinas with boat rentals very nearby at the Grand Glaize Bridge area.
Yes they do Bill, I think this labor day weekend might be there last weekend for it, but you should be able to call the park office on 134 & ask to double check
Pretty much all of your standard Missouri wildlife. You will see deer like crazy, they're almost not afraid of you in the State Park. And of course raccoons, opossums, gophers, lots of birds etc etc. They also have horseback riding in season with some beautiful horses on some beautiful land.
Yes I think you do I'm not for sure you can call them and see
I do not know if it was called Nu Vicky's hide away I wish I could help but I do not know.
I did not see anyone using a UTV while I was there but I guess that may depend upon where you are staying. Good question to ask when you make your reservation.
Sure as long as you book a RV spot.
There are cabins on the military reservation and they're within close proximity to each other. Currently there is construction of brand new cabins close to the boat ramp. Not sure when the competing date is on those but they haven't stopped working on them.
Think they have marked areas
I believe most of the resorts offer that sorta thing. Try starting with Margarita-ville
You can't find prices either they don't want you to know figure you will drive there and get stuck there and pay whatever price
Yes they have some grill there .and I think they got shower there .and the fishing is so excited
Camp is within walking distance to the boat ramps.
Yes you can Lisa, enjoy your camping and outdoor experience!!!!!
Yes there are several picnic areas. Some can host a big group or party. Just please leave it as you found it or better.
Pretty sure the swimming area closes at 10pm. Not sure what time it opens, probably 7 or 8.
When I was there from Thursday till Monday, it wasn't swamped at all, just the right amount of people and traffic. I went the w/e after Memorial day
not clear but great for swimming
Yes and it's a beautiful park. I would call them for any specific questions. Also, keep in mind that holiday weekends can be busy and have lots of traffic on site.
No daytime cost but there is a suggested overnight cost if you'd like a designated lot
No. Some are primitive. All sites have grills. You can reserve a site that does have electric. Great family place!
Call the marina on the north side of the park. They are the ones you rent from. Google grand glaze state park marina boat rental. I use to work at Holiday Inn Express and frequently sent people there to rent boats. They go fast, as in make a reservation asap. Water can be very dangerous on big weekends for inexperienced drivers fyi..I've seen more than one sunk. I've lived on the lake here 12 years.
Some are, not too steep. Don't know about bike rental
Here is the cave that I recommend...https://mostateparks.com/page/54199/cave-tours
Its close to Eldon Missouri around 20 miles from state park to track. Track is kind of come and go right now. Make sure they are going to go through with race before you get your Hope's up to much. They canceled one at the last minute last season. Very disappointed friends drove 200 miles for it, no race, no notice.
As others have stated it varies throughout the park.
I think the basic camp sites are $13 per night dont quote me on that. Tent camping is very welcome.
Depends on the type of site. A basic site on season is $13, electric 21, electric premium 23
If you stop at any of the trailheads there should be a small pavilion that will contain trail maps that will indicate which ones are horse trail, I believe back by Anderson hollar rd off of a road there are horse trails, there are 12 miles of trails back there
Should be ok. Water might be cold but the lake is at near full pool.
There are some cabins and yurts available. When we stayed it was $55/night. We loved the yurt as it provided heat/air but still gave us a camping experience.
At Lake Of The Ozarks ramp fees are $5 for vessels up to 30 foot amd $7 for over 30. No fee for campground users.
That's a good question if you aren't from around here... The lake is owned by Ameran if that's spelled correctly. Anyways they make electricity in the Dam, and apparently due to freezing and just over the winter they lower the level so when we get allot of rain I the spring it doesn't overflow or flood like it did a few years back. There are videos on YouTube of people's docks breaking loose and floating down stream.
Park is open year round, camping is at your preference according to what weather you want
Yes usually this time of year with occupancy being low more of them will let you set up early
Hotel? The four seasons resort is close. Otherwise there are plenty around
