Great, beautiful. Love staying there, hope to be back next year. Only needs bathroom update, but they were clean. Didn't like having to pay to dump my waste when other state campgrounds don't. And so call token machine didn't work. Also the gate attendant give us no heads up on no water.

Nice beach. We went out of season. So wasn't crowded at all.

Yes & its an awesome campground in an ideal location!!
Search online for san simeón parke or camp and it gives you information to call and reserve
There are RV accommodation at San Simeon State campground just south of the castle. Very nice campground and easy beech access.
Walk under the bridge, easy access. Bonus was for me my cell phone works best on the beach than in the campsite.
We camped there in Sept 2021 and you could make fires in the campground firerings
Yes, my cousin used his on his van with no problem.
Its not all first come first serve.
Yes you can, $35.00 per night
Free day parking available
I believe there is but we jut drove through. There is also a primitive section which has none
No, dry camping, but they do have a dump.
I paid $35 per night for a camp site, $10 for extra vehicles.
Washburn campground there will accommodate 40' RV. I prefer that campground over the lower ones. Campsites are roomy and we'll spaced. Some have a view of the ocean.
You meet at the visitor center pay for a tour and you wait for a boarding call, they shuttle you up on a nice bus with a tour guide of the estate.
Not per se, but disabled vets in California can get this pass. https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=27241 I dont know the specifics, but thete is a state parks office in San Simeon that should be able to help.
No hook ups at ANY of the sites, just a water fill up station and a dump station
Mid afternoon also you make reservations at the park and when you show up you get to pick the site drive back down and give the site that you chosen and done try to get campsite 10 give you a better view of the ocean I would go back it was a wonderful trip
The upper campground has grates on the fire rings in various stages of usefulness, some good and some require McGuivering to be grillable.
Yes. Take quarters.
Check reservation system. It is accurate. Even if you have reservation, the actual campsite is on first come, select the one you like, get it basis.
Helps if you ask nice but i would say use Google maps
Upper camp ground was $20 ,no hook ups. Nice and quiet. Lower camp ground is more
That part of the park does not provide street view to look at the site. Call State parks info line
Its definitely better to call ahead of time. The campground does get full and you dont want to go all the way out there just to find it full. Alternatively, the washburn day use area is right next door, although you cant stay there overnight.
Yes it is
It does, it cost .25 cents for 3 minutes, hot and cold water.
