The policies fluctuate. It's good to have an appointment. They're more concerned about cross donating than about what city you're from.

It depends on if it's your first time and how busy they are when you get there. Typically about 2 hours, give or take, regardless. New donors take longer to get processed, but then they give you an express pass for the actual donation part that puts you to the front of the line. After your first visit, you answer the same questions on a computer screen each time, stand in line to get screened, then get taken back to the donation area. If they're understaffed or have a long line or both, it can take longer. But 2 hours is typical.

Proper forms of identification in a current address to start I think an ID and a social security card will work I also think that you need a bill and proof of current residency plus you do have to take a physical which really isn't too hard just to make sure that you are able to donate that's a pretty easy process and I would say 99.9% of people able to donate

My personal experience as being a new donor was slightly over 3 hours. Keep in mind, that is $25 per hour, if you are 150 lbs or more. Everything there after will take 1-1.5 hours. Drink lots of H2O, to speed up the flow.
