Hyatt Place West Palm Beach/Downtown

Between a 3.5 and a 4 star rating. Downtown location is great for those just getting in from the airport. It is on a busy straightaway of the city, so sometimes the car noises make their way into the room. Listed as a 3 star hotel, but I still felt like it was slightly overpriced ($200 a night). However, the BEST hotel breakfast that we had. Everything was fresh and warm! Picture is of the open and airy lobby.

Stayed just one night with my wife and daughter for a birthday celebration. Convenient downtown location with a boutique hotel feel. Check-in was a breeze, and the reception and lobby area was bright and chic. The room was spacious and well-appointed, but its view of the car park from the room was a letdown. Plus, the room lights kept turning off every few minutes which was particularly annoying when in the bathroom. I called and reported the problem, but no one came before we were ready to sleep, so I canceled the request. The food at the complimentary breakfast buffet was excellent, with plenty of options. However, it would be nice to have someone clean away people's empty plates, etc., as we had to clean a table ourselves to sit, while a kitchen staff member just stood and watched. Check-out was fast, and when I mentioned the problem with the lights, the receptionist kindly removed the parking fee.

The Hyatt has always been very gracious in accommodations for us. We will always be grateful as many other Hotels are not pet friendly. We map out our travels around Hyatt locations. They are consistent across locations.

Positive: The beautiful renovated lobby, the very central location, the nice, friendly staff and guests, the yummy breakfast with fresh cut fruit, and the roomy suite. I enjoyed the view of the city while eating breakfast. Negative: Upstairs did not have the same fancy feel as the lobby, but it was still nice, especially for the price versus other comparable hotels nearby. Would love to stay again!
