Really cool place! We walked along the lower level, closer to the water. There is also an upper level that we haven’t checked out yet. Reminded me of a quarry. Saw people boating, my family enjoyed skipping rocks. Very peaceful. There is a porta-potty in the parking lot that was open.

Great place for hiking, biking, paddle boarding and canoing.

The lake is approximately 45 acres and man-made. It was created due to previous mining activity before Egg Harbor Township purchased the property.
Sure as long as it's not crowded because there will be dogs once in awhile on a leash
From Shore Road go South until you get to the five corners where it meets Mill Road and Tilton Road, then make a right on Mill Road and go just past New Road then take the slight left for Zion Road. The Nature Preserve is on your right on Zion Road after just about 5 miles.
Yes, but please respect the leash law. Some dogs (and people!) can be frightened by a dog running towards them!
Yes, a blanket type picnic is allowed. There are no picnic tables provided anywhere in the park. Please clean up after yourself.
From the parking lot to the pond? If you went slow, may be two minutes. Everything at the park is about the pond. It is the central point if the park
I've always heard a rumor of an undertow in that Lake is that even a real thing?
The gate is always locked to the public. No motorized vehicles are allowed in the park. Any boat must be carried in and out.
I think it's best if you go to the town first and ask for a permit if needed specially if you want to block off a section of the reserve
Yes, I've eaten them on multiple occasions without issue. However, you always run the risk of getting some sort of bacteria when you don't wash the fruit first. There's also the possibility, if you're not careful, of picking up a stray berry in the bunch that is poisonous. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubus_occidentalis
The whole shoreline has transformed and really expanded with all the precip since last summer!! Lord knows what you'll find swimming in there lol. You can't even walk the trail at the bottom. Still a great place.
Its not a mine. They would sell the dirt until they hit a natural spring that made the lake.
This is so true. For some reason your comment shows up as a question.
Yes and if he likes the water I have seen them going in the lake too.
Yes --- LOVE it there and LOVE the CATCH /RELEASE policy👍👍😁😁 tons of turtles baaking, ducks, even an EAGLE (once😍) very peaceful , serene feel . But I'm thinking there are times when it would be "busier' !!??
You can call the Mayor's Office and ask. I'm sorry you got such a rude, innapropriate answer 👎
The Catawba Project has progressively been working on the nature reserve and has also added a smart trail!
Nope
They are placed in there
