We visited Middleton in late September 2022. Granted, hurricane Ian provided atypical weather, but in general, it’s probably not the best time to visit. Little to nothing was in bloom. The grounds were well kept and people were friendly and helpful. There were a few animals freely roaming - a handful of sheep and some swans. They had horse stables but nothing super interactive. There are some small buildings to showcase how the enslaved lived, but it’s not very detailed. The grounds had easy walking paths - mostly sand-based so if you are wearing sandals, know you’ll get a little dusty. There’s a restaurant on site which is nice. The beyond the fields tour … wasn’t a tour. You gather around under a tree, sit on benches and listen to a historian explain the enslaved conditions. It was informative, but different than how it was presented. There is a restroom, gift shop and plant shop in the parking area. It’s not a must-see for me. We spent about 2.5 hours here.

This is my favorite of the 3 plantations I have visited. It is so peaceful and the gardens and landscaping are outstanding.

Absolutely beautiful! Loved getting to walk around and explore the gardens- there were tons of free garden tours or other guides that you could listen to- to learn more information about. But overall it was such a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. It’s pretty far North Charleston- and tons of walking- we got there around 9:30am and didn’t get done until 12:45pm- so allocate for a good chunk of time here!

A truly lovely plantation to visit with knowledgeable volunteers and a great book section in the gift shop

We are looking at late September or early October for the harvest. The growth and harvest are highly dependent on the weather. An announcement will be made on our website and social media once we set an official date for the harvest.
It generally shifts year to year, but around late March - early April is when it usually is

I actually dont know the answer to that question. That might be something you have to look into. It never mentioned anything on the website when you schedule your reservation about a gift card for middleton only.
$26 adult (senior discount available) & $10 child
Sadly they had all that shut down for Covid. I'm sure it will be back soon!
They have a buffet and menu items. All very good and delicious . Pricey but worth a try.
Due to free roaming livestock and natural predators, pets are not allowed at Middleton Place. Highly trained service animals are permitted throughout the property; however, we can only accommodate emotional support animals and pets in the main visitor parking lot. Please do not leave your pet in your parked vehicle if weather conditions will result in dangerously high interior temperatures.
Yes - and it is an interesting one, as the house had a long and adventurous past.

No. They will be available. Only reason I would recommend reserving the tickets would be for a special event or to get discounts if offered online. Never heard of a limited supply of tickets.
Yes to the roll away, you can check the website for the equestrian offerings.

I paid 214 for two nights. It was cheaper on hotels.com
Not the best choice of a place to stay if you want smoking rooms.
Bikes can be rented at The Inn at Middleton Place and used on Inn grounds, however bikes are not permitted within Middleton Place.
Camellias usually bloom in winter here....
In general, no. Peacocks and other animals roam freely. And some people do not like, or are afraid of dogs. From the site information page: "Leashed dogs that are not service animals are only permitted in the visitor parking areas. Service animals are permitted throughout the property."
The restaurant on the premises was discussing closure this weekend.
Movies and shows filmed at Middleton Place include: The Patriot, Army Wives and Top Chef. The Good Witch was not filmed at Middleton Place
