My experience here was excellent. Mrs. Erica at the front desk showed exceptional customer service and professionalism! We told her we were visiting from Texas and she made sure that everything was lined up for us. She went above and beyond and I will never forget her kindness after a long, hard trip. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are nice. I will definitely be back.

This hotel is definitely not 5 stars. There is no attention to detail at all. I was here for a conference which they have no signage for, and no easy way to indicate what conference room is where. When I confirmed that the conference was here due to lack of signage the receptionist scoffed at me and wouldn’t even tell me where to sign in. After that I had to park my car at the bottom of a hill and walk back up a hill with numerous bags and suitcases in tow. Nobody offered to help me. Up in my room the lack of care and attention to detail was apparent. The mirror had makeup splatter all over it (not mine) and the other had streaks, a dirty towel in the closet (not mine), and a half used water bottle on the window sill (not mine). The window overlooking the river had streaks and finger prints all over it. The grout lines in the bathroom are disgusting and the conditioner pump was broken. I made them come up and change my sheets just to feel like they actually cleaned my room a little bit. Their restaurants are advertised to be open but aren’t, and their highest restaurant recommendation was The Mellow Mushroom… in a mecca of nice restaurants! The best thing about the hotel is the outdoor poolside seating, and the ambiance in the main entrance. The riverside sunsets are also amazing as well as the downtown area itself, which the hotel has no control over. Overall very disappointed and would not recommend.

I absolutely loved this hotel. It’s located just a few feet from the boardwalk and close to everything. You can take a stroll down the boardwalk from the hotel, stop and eat at any of the restaurants, enjoy the view of the Cape Fear River while dining, go shopping, etc. You have a small grocery store where you buy any essentials you want to take to your room. The only thing I missed not having in our room was a small fridge where we could keep our water. Other than that our stay was great. The staff from the front desk to the housekeeping crew were all wonderful.

I enjoyed the locate and the view from the hotel. There were some surprising details like no coffee machine in my room, and the conditioner container was empty, no microwave. With the luxury price of the room I wished that there was a little more attention to detail. It felt as though it was a old hotel aiming for a face-lift. Outside of that the staff was so kind, beautiful restaurant and in walking distance to downtown.

No there isn't.
Carolina Beach is about 20-30mins from this hotel. Wrightsville Beach is about 15-20mins away. (Both estimates are depending on traffic)
Because it is downtown and likely costs them money to lease the parking area.
Didn't notice as well. I agree with Steve....try anyway. You'll enjoy the rooms.
The hotel does not offer a Continental breakfast as a part of your stay. There is a coffee shop located in the main lobby that has coffee and breakfast items for purchase. Also, there is a wonderful restaurant downstairs available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
I don't have the answer for you. We stayed at hotel in Aug.
