This is less of an RV park and more of a trailer park. TONS of long term residents and very tight space give this a very trashy feel.

The staff is always friendly and professional. They have a great pool, that’s why I keep coming back. Never to crowed. I jus wish it would stay open later than 7….how about dark. Especially if your swimming at your own risk anyway. A lot of people don’t get back to there camper until 7 or 8pm. But over all it’s the best for the price!!!

Is this a state park

Gail Connerty | Sep 29, 2020
Robert Junker | Sep 29, 2020

No, it is not a state park. The campground is owned by the Prince William Forest (the National Park Service) and operated by a private company as a concession for the NPS. There is no state park anywhere in the vicinity.

Is Prince William Forest RV Campground part of the National Park? Some reviews I have read says no, other camping books (2019 issues) says yes. Web site don't clearly state.

Rick Brewer | Sep 30, 2019
Pat Mann | Sep 30, 2019

The NPS web site for the RV park indicates it is operated by a concessionnaire. You do not need a National Park pass to use the RV park, but if visiting the other parts of the park while using the RV park, you will need to have a NPS or other valid pass or pay the fee.

Is the campground open year round? If so, are the winter rates lower?

Karin Haxton | Sep 30, 2019
Caroline B | Sep 30, 2019

It's open year round, but the rates are not lower as far as I know. It's a great winter campground though because they have heated cables on their water connections, so there's not an issue with frozen water when you're hooked up.

ARE THE FACILITIES AND OFFICE OPEN DURING THE SHUTDOWN?

dfisher122 | Sep 30, 2019
Kevin Jones | Sep 30, 2019

I think it's not directly affiliated with the park and is independently owned and operated but I'm not 100% sure

Gerri N. | Sep 30, 2018

Call the campground

We'll be travelling through on January 23rd. Is a reservation necessary? Also, do you give the America the Beautiful pass discount? Thanks.

dfisher122 | Sep 30, 2018
Joseph Jankowski | Sep 30, 2018

They are a private campground on public property, think vendor. No pass discounts but they do have military discount. I would get a reservation just to be safe but you probably won't need one. I would call and make sure they are open and have water available

Do I need a reservation before I come to your park?

jana weston | Sep 30, 2018
Petra Holden | Sep 30, 2018

No, but one is strongly encouraged, especially during holiday weekends and peak summer season.
