Such an amazing collection of portraits... So much to see, and yet, can be enjoyed in two hours if you are pressed for time.

Great family museum

Had a really great time here. The open air courtyard seemed like a great place to chill after exploring one side of the museum. It was very expansive so we couldn’t see it all at one time. The portraits of US presidents is definitely a must see though! That was my favorite part.

It is in the same building with National Portrait Gallery because both of them are in the Donald W. Reynolds center. I didn't know at first time. This museum was kind of small with not that many artworks compare to other art museums in DC. If you are going National Portrait Gallery, stop by here or you can skip and go to other museums in DC. Ongoing exhibition 'Experience America' was worth to see.

Admission to our museum (like all Smithsonian museums in Washington) is always free.
No due to government shut down all are closed but there are exceptions that certain institutions are open and it would be posted in their website.it is open 364 days according to the owner
There is limited on-street parking at meters; several paid parking garages are available in the neighborhood. Given our central location at Eighth and F streets N.W., above the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metrorail station, public transportation is often the best bet.
There are a lot of Smithsonian Art museums, I discovered that when cabbing to Smithsonian Museum of American art. Make sure it's the right Smithsonian.
لسعر العمله ؟؟ Hey What are the terms of sale of the original gold coins commemorating the museum How to evaluate the price of the currency ?? I don't know
Yes you can bring both. Just remeber they check bags and you have to have backpacks and bags in front of you or beisde you so you dont hit something. (That can be kinda annoying)
Its more likely to be a print
They'd prefer you to not bring much into the museums and there are not really any places to store your bag if you brought it. If you can keep it in your vehicle, maybe but I doubt it.
sorry no idea
I don't think you need an ID... it's a free entry museum.
They've had past exhibitions on animation but not currently
No. Those are stored elsewhere
The gallery is open 7 days a week 11:30 am til 7pm. It is closed only on Christmas day.
You can get a locker. If you carry a back pack you have to carry it in your front or at your side. You can not carry a full size umbrella through the museum. The week make you leave it at one of the entrances in an umbrella rack they have.
No
I bet it is referring to the guided tour if you click on purchase tickets. Not sure how knowledgeable the guides are but I find the museums already accessible without a guided tour so not sure I would pay for a free museum!
Yes, always free!
Nope, it's free.
While we cannot authenticate or appraise any artwork, the museum has created a resource guide to researching your art available at https://americanart.si.edu/research/my-art. Hope that helps!
Tickets are not required except for occasional special events. The main portion of the museum is always open to the public, within the operating hours, of course.
If you go to the museum's Web page, the exhibits will be listed there.
No...not done that way. .small galleries first..this is a National Museum...
