The Kreeger Museum has an amazing collection of art in a beautiful building designed by Philip Johnson. The extraordinary outdoor sculptures in the surrounding wooded grounds should not be missed.

I thoroughly enjoyed this museum both inside and out— definitely worth a visit— even in a city of Smithsonian’s. It was also lovely to wonder around a museum that wasn’t crowded.

Pretty sure I'm not saying anything new, but since this is a relatively hidden gem, will say it again: this private (and free, however donation suggested) museum/personal collection to me was as enjoyable, or moreso, as any of the DC galleries. Very historic to boot wrt the DC art scene.

Small but nice collection. Very small parking lot.

I also am not aware of any age limit. There were toddlers and children in carriers on parents backs and fronts during our visits.
There is not a cafe. There are several great places to eat close by, though. Jettie's on Foxhall and the restaurants on MacArthur Blvd are great choices.
Check the website for timed entry tickets. I went on Saturday and it was delightful.
Yes. But they welcome and strongly recommend a contribution in any amount.
