My mom went to Towson for Reheb. Everyone was wonderful. The nurses took very good care of her, they were attentive helping her eat, keeping her clean. The therapist were very knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend ProMedica Towson to anyone.

0 Stars is Not an Option. I visited a relative today sent to Manor Care, Towson to rehab after a surgery. My relative is diabetic, unable to walk or use his hands and arms, and also wears a neck brace so is unable to move his head. He also has trouble talking and swallowing and is therefore (supposedly) on a special diet - his food should be pureed. He is, for the most part, completely debilitated. Not only is he not getting physical therapy, his "special" diet, which has to be fed to him, consisted of diced barbecue chicken (sugar), rice (starch) and corn (more starch), none of which was pureed and quite possibly the worse diabetic diet on the face of the earth. They did, however, puree his peaches in syrup. He was also given jello and apple juice that were not sugar free. They administered pain pills crushed in vanilla pudding. HE'S DIABETIC for godsakes. Additionally, he cannot feed himself, yet his food is taken if he doesn't eat in the time that the staff allots to feed him. While I visited, he complained of his eyes burning, as he has a problem with his eyes that they are aware of and treat with cream. He blinks constantly to try to prevent the stinging. I wiped his eyes with a clean, cool cloth because he cannot do it himself, but no one bothers to wipe or cool his burning eyes on a regular basis. The televisions are set to cut off after a couple of hours, but can be turned on by remote. He can't operate the remote control because he can't use his hands. He is left 8-10 hours a day without being given water or moved to prevent bed sores. So for the most part, he lies in bed for HOURS, in silence, in pain, completely parched, blinded by dry eye and unable to get help. Therapists should be visiting almost DAILY and nurses should be checking on him at least every couple of hours. With their "special diet" I pray that he doesn't go into a diabetic coma, because they won't find him until the next shift does rounds. He's worse at this "rehab" center than he was when he came through the door. I thought the goal of facilities like this is to rehabilitate so that patients can leave, not kill them. This place is killing my uncle and if he leaves Manor Care alive it will be a miracle from God. Stay FAR, FAR, FAR, away from this place. It's NOT GOOD!
