It's a nice place to get out of the city, drive your razor or motorcycle dessert

Just pulled in for the night on our way up north for our vacation and it was one of the best sites on our trip. So peaceful at night and the sunrise was beautiful.

Fire rings at all the campgrounds, no permit for those.
On the phone number listed it says day use only currently.
2 wheel is fine to get to camp grounds
For hiking I'd recommend going a few miles west to Mount Pinos in the Los Padres national Forest. There use to be designated hiking trails in Hungry Valley, but I'd have to double check if they still have them.
It's big park you can stay overnight I don't think you need reservations if it's full and you can't stay truck stop is 1.5 miles away plenty of parking
yes
Thats a good question that I would like to know as well.
Yes, they are as of last week.
Think "desert-like." Can get hot as hell, but also cool down quite a bit in winter.
Yes, I was there on 11/29/20. They don't have season passes anymore but day passes are still available. It was nice because it wasn't crowded.
Yes its was open and so busy
You are able to camp, so yes you can cook.
Yes
Yes.
You can camp dude is trippin
Yes, now is open from 6:00am to 6:00 pm.
It's snowed in. U can't even get through
Nope! To the best of my knowledge, the only place you can or need to reserve there is the group site. The rest are open camping and first come, first serve. Have fun!!
When the weather is good, they're usually open. Did you know you can get into the forest there as well? So, if you have a park pass, tell the person at the gate, show you pass, and they'll direct you to the forest road.. without paying to get in the State park... the forest is free camping and lots of good trails.
If the front gates aren't closed, then it is open. If you want to know specifically what is open and closed inside the park, you can ask the staff at one of the entrances.
I've been camping there for 2 nights in a row and I only paid the daily fee three times. $5x3
There is Carl's Jr in Gorman. Ranch House restaurant had awful service. McDonald's in Gorman. Best place is La Sierra restaurant in down town Frazier Park
Go to DMV and ask for a new registration / transfer of ownership with a lost pink slip.. Its easy.
Yes. Properly licensed vehicles only.
No hook ups. Remote camping. But there is restrooms and tables.
Good luck finding a spot if you don't get there at least early Friday though. Remember there's no hook ups here or assigned spots.. 1st come 1st served. Shouldn't Havre any trouble finding a shoot to camo with fire pit just have too share some space sometimes. I would get there early find a spot and if you've never been there take a ride and see if you find a nicer spot than your 1st choice. Ther's shone nicer places that are in the back area.
It is might be a red sticker that got faded
Not even close. If you are opening a trip you'll be fine. Thomas fire is closest but still about 40 miles away. Winds have blown fire away from the town of Gorman. I'm going this Fri as I do every other Fri. Have to get ready for dove springs week long trip at 1st of the year. Have fun
All the trails are marked for skill level. You just need to have a realistic view of your level of experience
No.... but I highly recommend you teach them basic skills and knowing the right of way.... just so they stay safe and have fun I would also highly recommend getting there very early... like 630 to 7 am.... by noon it is very crowded
