The tour is 30 minutes in a large group. I asked if we were able to look around after the tour, and the guide said yes. After the tour, my husband wanted to look at 2 pieces of furniture. We were told we had to exit out the back door; We could not stay and look at items. I reminded the tour guide that she told us we could stay and look around afterwards, and she said you “must have misunderstood my question”! She named a piece of the furniture incorrectly. I would not recommend this fast paced tour.

Docents are very knowledgeable and interesting. The home has been well-maintained. The tour was thought- provoking. Enslavement of Africans was addressed with straightforwardness and includex facts regarding the home's history. Very educational. No interior photos were allowed.
