The Graham Hurd/St Andrews Library was recently renovated and is a lovely library. It's a great space to work, study, and attend a program. Great collection as well!

Good parking. Wide range of adult and children's books. Children's area with computer access and regular adult led children's activites. Computer access for adults. Good selection of dvds. Members can reserve books etc. from the County website and collect them from this library. Some general upgrading of seating and flooring and a larger magazine/newspaper area is needed in my opinion. The library has been beautifully refurbished and is worthy of 5 stars

We love our library! My kids love coming here and I love that their childrens’ section is separate so their excited voices don’t disturb other library goers. They have a wonderful book selection.

Hello, We do have multiple copies of that book in our system. Now the only thing is that since it just came out this year, it has a few people wanting to read it as well. All you have to do is go to a library closest to you and place a hold with your library card to get the book. Have a great day!

Hi Deborah! This branch, and two others, are currently undergoing renovations and will reopen several months from now. We don't have a firm reopen date because so much depends on crews being able to work while staying safe during the pandemic.
Hi Teresa! The Friends of the Library will begin receiving donations again on March 1, 2021 at the Main Library on Calhoun Street in downtown Charleston. Currently they are only taking donations there due to the pandemic. Thanks!

Take on your ID. That's all. You basically need to prove that you live in Charleston County. Your library card can be used at any library in Charleston County, and also online on the awesome HOOPLA website. Enjoy!!

The two big things are story time and summer reading program. You can see all programming for children by searching the website (not the catalog) for children Hurd. Call the library or drop by if you have questions. Enjoy the programming!
