My experience at this animal shelter was a great one. From the time I called on the phone to them helping me in person. As I walked In the door I saw everyone being kind and the place was clean. I was taken care of right away.

This place took my dog & refused to give him back & claimed he was unfit to live & put him down against our discretion. Yes our dog was older & had a few health issues but he got out the house & a spiteful neighbor had him taken away we literally spent a day & a half looking for him before knowing where he was. We call the shelter & the owner Chris is the rudest most disgusting guy ever calling us bad owners because of our dogs age & condition. Keep in mind we’re fully aware our dog is older & not in the best shape but my girlfriends birthday was in 2 days & she just wanted to spend her birthday with him before finally putting him down (He has been to the vet before). Worst experience ever so traumatizing & he made it just so much more uncomfortable than the situation already was. This shelter lacks empathy my girlfriend is destroyed about the situation. I don’t usually do reviews but this place struck a different nerve with me & my family. DON’T EVER SUPPORT THIS PLACE.
They don't have any at the moment but I believe they're able to take them, since on their Facebook page they have a a few small animals, like a rabbit and ferret.

how could you as an animal protection agency return a dog back to the owner who left the dog outside in this heat without water and god knows what else. you don't have any right to call yourself an "animal protection agency" Carma is a real thing

Hi Jean, you must misunderstand the regulations of our municipal shelter. We do not have to the ability to be an animal protection agency in the eyes of the state or the county. We are simply a holding facility for state or county agencies who seize animals. We do not have discretion in the outcome of animals seized by county or state agencies.

Looking to adopt a Shih Tzu or similar up to a Spaniel as I've had to lay my dog to rest due to kidney failure. Any dog that does not shed and does not have a very strong odor. Toy dogs most likely. open to attached pairs but not too old.

Carole, if you can not find a home for them yes I do believe they will take them. I know they found a guinea pig and have it at the shelter.... So if you have no other choice I'm sure they will help you and take them.

It's sad that our county doesn't have a free TNR program. LI Spay and Neuter in Medford has decent prices and gives trappers/rescuers special pricing. Our rescue does what we can, but we can never get them all.
Would you guys accept handmade toys and towels. Also would someone be able to sign a paper that I donated the toys. Thank you. The toys are made from felt and polyester filling
