I went to UM Baltimore last November when I became sick with COVID 19. I wasn't there for long before I was taken back and tested and placed into an ER room in a section for COVID patients. Because I am also a heart patient with a long history of Heart disease and COPD they were prompt with a chest X-Ray to make sure no infection was in my lungs and all bloodwork within 2 hours they had me on Infusion therapy to help me cope with the virus and its symptoms. I've been in and out of hospitals for most of my adult life and spent many days and nights in an ER at other hospitals that didn't move this quickly to make sure my heart wasn't affected by the Virus. I appreciate all their hard work and the Doctor who cared for me was just wonderful. They took really good care of me. I can see others have had bad experiences at this hospital and it's unfortunate. There are many reasons why an ER might not be able to assist you in a timely manner. Many people use an ER when all they really need is to see their regular doctors when they become sick or injured. It cost a great deal to go to the ER and much of the wait time has to do with getting approval from insurance companies to do what needs to be done to help patients with whatever illness or injury they have. The hospitals are not always at fault when they must follow proper guidelines and hospital protocol before a patient can be seen. Just because someone is white that doesn't mean they're being given preferential treatment because of the color of their skin. It's because their insurance company approved the healthcare faster. Unless your life is at risk you won't be seen any quicker than it takes to get approval. If you're waiting too long call your medical insurance provider and explain your situation so they will get you seen quicker.

Honestly worst medical center I’ve ever been to. I would not recommend admitting yourself or any of your family members here. All I can say is ghetto !! The terrible staff and nurses do not actually care about their patients , period. I literally had to harass and blow the front desk phone up, speak to multiple staff members just to get in touch with my family member that was calling me from inside…. They lie about simple stuff like not being able to have visitors or the patient being “occupied” just to come to find out that this isn’t true ( coming from the patient). Or they just act slow like they don’t know what they’re doing. This Is honestly really frustrating. Do not go here!

Came in because I was covid positive I never was seen due to a lady and her client because I had a temper tantrum and threw my water she falsely accused me of test results that had to due with another young lady and I felt she was telling people hippa business regardless if I was the female with a positive test result you don’t go reporting that it’s against the law.

Harvinder Signh 305 Hospital Dr located at the Tate Center next to the hospital.
Any University of Maryland entity is a good place. I've never had surgery there, but I have downtown which is University of Md as well.
The flu is hitting Maryland hard. This is to protect the health and safety of patients and visitors. This flu season children are especially at risk for getting the flu and can become very ill.
We'll see how implied it is if the person didn't ask to be taken there.
Yes and they have a coffee bar as well.
Only for inpatients
yes I believe so
Use gps
In my opinion, they should stay home because the flu and colds is hitting hard this season. They want to protect children from becoming sick.
If you're with bwmc ask h.r or schedule an appt. With your doctor or a nurse there
You have to get their code number, which is usually confidential and issued only to those people specified by the patient.
I didn't have an issue with the ER. It could depend on the amount of people seeking treatment all at one time or perhaps they had an issue with triaging your case.
Good question. IF I find out I'll let you know.
Because University of Maryland bought it… and that’s how they name everything…
Pretty sure parking always free. This is Glen Burnie location, not Baltimore. Probably get better care in Baltimore or anywhere else, for that matter. Send ER Ashley my love.
Until 8 or 9p I think. Check on that by giving them a call.
