Nice and Cool during Summer hours was nice to experience. Clean and organized as well. Ample parking available. Two story building but a couple of elevators are present.

Book sales are held by the Friends of the Kern County Library twice a year. Next one is October. There is also a children's book sale each June. In addition there is an ongoing sale all the time where books are 50 cents each.
Overdue fees are 50¢ per day for each overdue book or audio CD, and $1.00 per day for each overdue DVD or Bluray. If you're concerned with late charges, your library card also gives you access to Overdrive eBooks which never have any late fees.
Come by and we can help you find books, audio courses, and we even have a program called Pronunciator you can use for free with a library card which has customizable language courses online!

Not open on Sundays and I DO NOT recommend leaving books in the return bin outside because I've had the bad experience that they forgot to scan my returned materials until almost a week later. I had to pay the fees and wouldn't take the blame for their mistake.
