When you are in need the help is available. I see a lot of complaints on this post. You should count yourself lucky that this place was there to help you. An ungrateful person is worst than a thief.

For some reason, Rochester YWCA popped into my mind, probably because the experiences I'd had there were often traumatic. When I first moved in, it seemed okay, but it did not take long before I started to notice and hear about its negative points. First of all, the place, especially the toilets and showers were often filthy. The woman who cleaned it often didn't do the work, so we started cleaning. The staff, many of who claimed to be so Christian, had been mean and unprofessional. One time one of the other residents who was going through a mental health decline threw hot food at me and tried to hit me with a frying pan. When I spoke to the counselor for our floor, telling her that I didn't feel safe, Miss Stephanie Davis, she told me NOT to count on her for my safety and that I felt like I was in danger, call the police. On another occasion, the floor supervisor, a woman named Sarah, made a statement in a crowd of people that I know was directed to me, about people coming home after getting high and having 'the munchies.' Instead of supporting me during my active addiction, I felt she used it to hurt me. When I confronted her, she denied it but could not look me in the eye and started stuttering. I'm ashamed to say that after moving out I ran into a difficult situation and tried to move back in, just for a short time. I then discovered they put me on a 'Do not admit' list, which I believe was due to the two complaints I made against them.

Special agents and organizations set a plan in place to violate me at this location. The building is owned by Conifer.

I live at the Y In the Bittner side! There are studios & 1 bedroom apartments! The rents are Income based & there Is a waiting list! For more Information you should call property manager!
Of course mold is a reason that people are homeless. So are toxic building products, scented products, animals, ambient WiFi, and pesticides. There are many people who are homeless because they cannot find environmentally safe housing. I am one of them. There are no programs to help the chemically injured. I have been trying for decades. I also have a calico cat named precious that I don't want to get rid of. I donate plasma twice a week at CSL and earn a total of about $500 a month for everything I need. I've been fighting to get DSS to help me with little to no success and I can't find a job that is willing to hire me. If anyone has info to help me, please help.
If you go to DHS they can place you at the YWCA but you have to be married for your fiance to stay there.
It takes women with their children married couples men & their children & transgenders!
You have to have a referral! I'm sure there are other criterias that can get you In here! So I would call & get more Info! They have SRO, APT & they also have Suppported living & Emergency Shelter! Four programs! Call & see which program fits your needs! Good luck
I believe they will take anything but u can alwsys call
No. We are not an exercise facility.
They will help if you are placed there by DSS. Pretty much all the shelters here only take you if you are placed there.
The YWCA has long term apartments but they also have an emergency shelter you access through DSS. Willow is also a good resource that may be able to help. I'm sorry about your situation, that is a terrible place to be. And it's not easy getting out. Good luck to you. If you need other resources feel free to call the main number and ask for me. I can call you on Monday when I return to work with other resources.
