Always a good hike, and usually not crowded during winter. Saw 2 deer resting a few feet from the trail.

James River Park System is awesome! Nice trails, shady and a dip in river!

What's not to like? It's 1/4 mile to the water from where you park. Super calm waters. Just awesome. We'll be exploring the trails next time!

Parking lots are gravel and the trails are rock or Earth and the condition depends on recent weather. Bell isle might be a better option.
