Candlewood Suites Memphis East, an IHG Hotel

There was no signage to show us how to get to the parking lot. The room smelled of cleaning solution but clearly was barely cleaned. The hotel panty they provided was not stocked. The door to our bathroom would not close or lock. Half the washers and dryers did not work. And it took the staff 4 times to provide us with a tvr emote that worked. The best thing about this place was location near the highway.

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had at a Candlewood Suites. The bill was outrageous. The room was filthy - drink ring marks on the table, mold in the shower, cigarette butts under the recliner chair. There was no paper towel in the room - had to ask at the front desk. There were no extra towels - just enough for 2 people. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Access off of I-40 is a nightmare, There's no sign our front, so keep your eyes peeled.

This facility was far above my expectations for the price. The room was very clean and big, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect. The kitchen area had a full refrigerator, two burner stove top, dishwasher, and dishes in the cabinets to use. The outside patio was very peaceful with two grills and covered seating. The staff was very helpful and nice. I will definitely stay here again.

If you need a place to stay and this Candlewood Suites is your only option, you'll be okay. However, if you have choices, I would opt for another IHG location in the area. The beds were comfortable and the front desk staff very friendly, but overall this Candlewood is subpar. When we got to our room, I observed that there appeared to be a small bloodstain on the bed cover, so we checked to make sure the bedding was clean, of course. Fortunately, it was. As we used the room that evening and the next morning, we found that [a] a lightbulb was missing from the lamp by the bed, [b] the clock was set to the wrong time, [c] there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, [d] the salt & pepper shakers were empty, [e] there were no paper towels, [f] the tissue dispenser was empty, and [g] there were two shampoo dispensers in the shower but no body wash dispenser. None of this is life-or-death but none of it is good, either. The next morning, I shared all this with the front desk and she apologized and made note of everything ... and then *nothing* was done about any of it over the next three days of our stay. In the hallways, there appear to be stains or bleach spots on the carpet and the doors/doorways are badly in need of painting. There was trash on the floor of the laundry and in the stairwells, and clearly someone had been smoking in the stairwell. There are no cups provided for the coffee in the lobby. All in all, this location is just mediocre and needs some TLC.
