Positive: The room itself appeared to be remodeled and was very nice. The rest of the hotel needs updating and the carpets were stained. The breakfast was decent. Negative: The condition of the hotel other than the room itself. The price was high.

Stayed Friday-Monday for Beale Street Music Festival. Prices were inflated almost $200 more for the weekend compared to other weekends, which I could let pass if the stay was pleasant. The AC barely worked in the room and it was a hot spring weekend so sleeping was uncomfortably warm. We declined housekeeping on Saturday and Sunday but did ask the cleaning staff on Sunday morning for 2 additional bath towels. They said they didn't have any on the cart but to ask the front desk later. That Sunday evening when we returned we went to the front desk and were met with one of the rudest encounters I've experienced in a hotel. The employee asked what we needed and I asked if we could have a couple towels. He sarcastically snorted and said they didn't have any because the hotel was full but he would check. I said we hadn't asked for any Saturday either but we would like clean towels to shower before we checked out Monday morning. He called me back to the store room and spread his arms to an empty shelf to show me that they had no towels. He asked what part of a "full hotel" did I not understand? I said even with a full hotel, they should be able to accommodate two additional bath towels within a weekend stay. He went on to say they have to throw towels away because of makeup stains and that to buy extra towels cuts into their revenue to which I said that wasn't my problem because I was a paying customer contributing to revenue and two towels was not an unreasonable request for two occupants. He offered bathmats or hand towels. I took hand towels and we used those to shower. I have never been talked to like that by an employee of a hotel and I was furious. Terrible customer service! Definitely would never stay there again.

Room itself isn't bad, bed is sorta comfy, pillows are a mix of soft and firm. The bathrooms however are not so clean. They appeared to have water spots and mold on the ceilings. I Stayed in 2 different rooms. Second room was worse. A hole behind door had toilet paper in it to cover it. Coffee pot didn't work. Wall outlets were so worn they would not hold a phone charger. At night time, the entire floor I was on smelled like Marijuana, empty "shot bottles" laying on the sidewalk...perhaps this area of town is definitely not the best to consider staying for an extended period of time...just saying

Our room was clean, we stayed on ground floor handicap room. No bad odors and the bed was comfortable. They didn't have any kind of breakfast (we were there 4 nights. Shame on them for not even trying. They should give extra points or discount on room. A lot of people choose this place because of breakfast. Everything else was ok.
