I did some handy man type work on the exterior of this facility. The guy in charge was a blessing to me and it was a privilege to help out around there.

Questions & Answers

Are you receiving coat and clothing donations? If so, where can I drop them off?

Madam “Celo” Boston | Sep 23, 2021
Samaritan House | Sep 23, 2021

At this time we are not. We are planning on opening up receiving clothing donations sometime between October 15th and October 30th. If you still have the donations at that time contact me please. Thank you for thinking of our program for your donation.

We do not accept families at this time as we are not a shelter. We are a short term recuperative care program for homeless single adults coming from a local hospital to our care.

Hi, do you guys take single pregnant women?

M | Sep 23, 2021
Samaritan House | Sep 23, 2021

We do when they are referred to us by a social worker at a local hospital while they are inpatient or in the emergency department. We do not accept pregnant women just because of the pregnancy, there has to be a medical issue as referred by the medical personnel. As we are not a shelter we cannot accept "walk-ins" or outside referrals from non medical personnel. Our facility is short term while the patient is recuperating from a medical issue.

I would like to donate blessing bags to your residents, would I be able to arrange this?

Amiee Rostron | Sep 23, 2021
Samaritan House | Sep 23, 2021

Yes, that can be arranged. When you're ready to donate just give us a call 704-333-0110 and we'll explain the procedure to do so. Thank you very much for thinking of our program.

I am homeless....a single woman . What kind of residents do you all accept?

Anita Kendrick | Sep 24, 2019
Gregg Chapman | Sep 24, 2019

Samaritan House is a temporary recuperative care facility for homeless people that are patients in a local hospital for medical issues. All of our residents are referred to us by a hospital social worker while they are current patients in a local hospital only. Contrary to Google listings and other local informational resources we are not a shelter.

Do you give away shoes and clothes

Malik King | Sep 24, 2018
Samaritan House | Sep 24, 2018

Unfortunately we do not, all donations that we receive remain in house and given to our guests as they need them. We refer those in need to Crisis Assistance Ministries on Spratt St. in Charlotte to receive free shoes and clothing as needed.

What's the latest you come in for first timers

valentino washington | Sep 24, 2018
Samaritan House | Sep 24, 2018

As Samaritan House is not a shelter, we are a medical recuperative care facility, we only accept new guests through a referral process for patients currently in local hospitals. Hospital social workers know our process and make the referral if the patient meets Samaritan House criteria.

Is this a shelter

Debra Mccullough | Sep 24, 2018
Gail Beddingfield | Sep 24, 2018

Yes. It is a shelter for people that are sick. My sister is there at this time because she has uterine cancer. They help with getting transport back and forth to your doctors and treatments as well as a roof over your head and a meal on the table. This place is a God sent!
