Such a fantastic self-lead tour. Fascinating to be in the house Lee had to evacuate when union troops came.

Historic start of the most sacred memorial in our nation.

Part of the tour of Arlington when you get tickets for the tram that takes you around the cemetery. Worth the stop, if just for the view of the city!

Very cool historic home with lots of history from George Washington’s family to Robert E Lee, the Civil War and beyond!

Your funeral home would know , I know it can take up to 6 to 9 months
If you are referring to the tour bus that used to go from Mt. Vernon to Arlington Cemetery, not only did they stop that route years ago (along with the one to the Frederick Douglass House), it's now a totally different company that runs the buses. Also, WIMSA (the Women's Memorial) may be closed due to the Federal shutdown.
The house was built from 1803 to 1818. It was built in sections. The house was by John Custis. The main house is 140 ft wide with 8 columns 5 ft in diameter. The North and South wings of the house were completed in 1804. The final portion of the house was completed in 1818. The house was the property of George Washington Parke Custis. Upon his death, it was inherited by Mary Custis Lee. It was then past down to George Washington Custis Lee, the son of Mary and Robert.
The Custis Lee House and Grounds are part of the National Park Service. The Cemetery is part of Veterans Administration. The NPS property sits at the top of the hill surrounded by the cemetery. And @Mark Davis (below) is referring to Quartermaster General, Montgomery Meigs.
