From a parent perspective: This place is amazing! As a supportive parent it was important that our daughter found a place to make friends in a safe and inclusive environment. She's had trouble her whole life feeling included in her age group. She's struggled at times with depression, loneliness and her identity. She's been going to TOY for a few months and this momma has cried happy tears on many occasions because she's finally found "her people". She's thriving, has done much better in school and overall is just a much happier person. Thank you to TOY for being the awesome human beings that you are!

A great place for any LGBTQA+ individual yo come and hangout, chill, play and just breathe. You can be unapologetically you here and to make everything better your name and pronouns are very much respect. So if you need a family away from family please come down. The staff is amazing and the resources are great. Make TOY a home for you.

Okay I'm 19 and shes 21
Yes they have one in cabbarrus county and I forget where the 2nd location is in North Carolina
It's mainly a safe space. TOY does have plans for LGBTQA+ housing, when that will be implemented idk. But you can come for activities and more. Call and ask for resources and times. Hope to see you there.
Call and ask Hayley, she's on our school outreach program. She can even help you make a GSA at the school you want to go to.
Hey friend! Thank you for reaching out. We do have an online chat that happens twice a week that you can join remotely. You can find out info at timeoutyouth.org/qchat. We also have an LGBTQ youth podcast that you can listen in to and hear youth from our Center talking about different topics. You can listen in at timeoutyouth.org/podcast. We are located right on the bus line too if taking the bus would be an option! We hope you will be able to visit us in person. Feel free to call our center or send us an email for additional resources if you need.
That age limit is 21 for the space but 24 for all resources that you can use.
The group in Gastonia meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at St Marks Episcopal Church. Additional details here: www.timeoutyouth.org/youth/toy-gaston
