Called to ask general question about animal shelter and possibility of leaving pet when can no longer care for, the employee who answered the phone on Wednesday 9/21/2022 at about 1:40 was rude and unprofessional saying people just go to DUMP animals there. Find another job!

We visited this place to adopt a dog.I feel this place just don’t care about their animals finding a home. We told them we wanted to fill an application to adopt a small or medium size dog but the person there just insisted to take the application home and bring it back. But we told him we will just fill the aplicación there so that the process could be faster. We have a fence yard, we have a good job and we know having a dog is expensive. But the guy said that because we have an 8 year old son, our options were limited. Like I said at the beginning we wanted a small dog or medium size. They said they will contact us and is being almost 3 months and no call.

This is so bad, I wanted to give a zero but I can’t, so I’ll give you a 1. My friend had a bad experience with them. Gave her false hope when she was serious about adopting a dog. You wouldn’t give a foster kid false hope about going to a family they wanted would you? A family that went out of their way only to give them to another family they didn’t want. Bad service!! All these 1 stars make sense. Poor Phil.

Hi Rudy, Anyone wishing to volunteer at the Robin I. Kroogman New Haven Animal Shelter must be at least 18 years old. The application process to become a volunteer is presently closed, but you can find out the details at the volunteers' website: Findafriendforlife.org. As you will read, we always need and welcome volunteers who can provide enrichment for our animals and participate in other positive ways. Thanks for your interest!!!!
Hi Joni, If you have already submitted an adoption application and have been approved then it might be possible. All of our animals are spayed and neutered before going to their forever homes. If the animal you have adopted hasn't had that surgery yet, then you would be able to take the animal home after the surgery is completed. Due to the holidays, appointments for surgery have been harder to schedule. When you pick up your new pet though it will have all its vaccinations and needed procedures to begin a new life with you.
Hi Pamela, Where do you live and approximately how old are the kittens? If you can locate the owner and/or the mother that would be the best solution.
No
They have a couple of small dogs but you have to call them or go there personally.
New Haven Animal Shelter or Cat Proyect Also, those kittens you found homes for, will never get spayed or neutered.
