Very beautiful nice gorge hike to the 3 larger waterfalls and lots of smaller ones. Very clearly visible stratified gray claystone rocks, carved by the water give a very beautiful background to the whole hike. Nice and green in summer with natural swimming pool and lifeguard at all times. Costs about 9 dollars per car and have friendly staff and helpful life guards.

This was one of THE best parks. It seemed like there were waterfalls around every corner! We walked up the east rim trail and then down the gorge trail. Lots easier than the other way. We were glad it was a dry season, or the gorge trail would’ve been closed and it was just fabulous!

Beautiful, easy hiking although there are many levels so be prepared for stairs. Can be slippery. Fun swimming hole and many beautiful waterfalls. Good for families and little ones 😊👍🏼

This hike was recommended to us and we drove the 2 hours to check it out. Well worth it. 3 big waterfalls - lower, middle, and upper falls. There is a 1.5 mile hike and 2.3 mile hike for rim and gorge trails. Both easy walks with elevation changes on the rim trail. From the parking lot head to the left to come down the falls on your hike or go to the right to go up the falls.

Really u can't walk in the water in a park really
There is swimming. I was in recently. Very refreshing. Lifeguards too.
Open no fireworks display at park but are in surrounding towns
There's lots of fishing spots around the area. There's also a trout pond at letchworth you can fish. But you have to be careful you can only keep certain times of the year and most fishing areas are a very short drive also poags hole is not to far away if you want to watch people climb the top on a dirt bike. But honestly peaceful trout areas all around just need to find them i enjoyed my one week stay there I'm from Michigan lots of places for me to camp and fish here but my bucket list to fish in every state at least once. If i go to the ocean won't go without a guide and other big lakes but my home lake been fishing since i was 3 lake erie so a change of scenery at stony brook water falls some of the biggest I've seen in awhile steeper hills and mountains to hike couldn't beat it and also about an 1.5 hour run to Niagara falls its cheap to stay at also a 30 minute run to letchworth pending traffic and route taken really can't beat its location.
Yes but all trails are closed gradually during the winter. First gorges trail and after East and West trail.
connect with nature , go for a run , walk around , hike a bit , listen to music , read a book , paint. its beautiful scenery
Yes, there is a nice swimming area with several roped off sections of different depths from 2 - 8 feet. They also have lifeguards on duty.
Unfortunately no tubes are allowed plus the gorge is closed due to some kind of construction
It's open. One trail is under construction. But the swimming hole is open
Officially No, but I dont think anyone gonna bother u seriously if u use that
If I will break them, I'm not sure what time the pins will be but the Curran wings at 6pm
Yes .alot of shelters and grills on north side of park .on the south side is mainly camping and u have to pay to enter. But I did see one large party style shelter. They also have Group camping sections.
Didn't see a pool when we were there. Swimming is allowed in supervised portion of the stream
For a fee and if they meet the requirements. You should read up online first.
Yes, there was several walking along the trails the day I was there.
No the sites are spread out
No the concession stand is currently closed I was there this passing Saturday
Camping you have to make reservation online day park visit have to get there early limited people allowed in gorge trail is closed.
Gorge trail remains closed.
I know you can't walk in the stream heading to the waterfalls. I was there 3 weeks ago and the trail heading to the waterfalls was closed so we decided to walk in the stream and a park ranger said we could not walk in the stream. I know the pool is open now but not sure about the trail.
I would recommend going to their website. You should be able to find that information. I'm not sure though that they have opened it up completely.
I don't see why not. There is plenty of space and it is just beautiful
6pm if it's open. They drain and close it for various reasons, like debris.
No, but they get filled up pretty quick. I'd get there a bit early to make sure you find one.
Charcoal grills
I didn't have cell service hiking, I think it depends on what your service is. AT&T here. I had Verizon 2 years ago and it was spotty
No charge if you come in with out a motorized vehicle..
Not sure, should give them a call. We only hiked the gorges.
Yes, Logan's inn is 5 minutes away or they have cabins for camping at Stony Brook park
I would imagine perhaps in June. It is a natural pool. Very refreshing.
Yes. If your familiar with Allegheny state park, set up kind of the same with fewer cabins. Have fun!
Yes except for south end of nature trail which is being renovated
Considering it's a state park I dont think they'd condone this.
Yes. On a leash.
Credit cards... Yes
It depends on the weather and if life guards are available. But definitely after Labor Day weekend. So, September.
Yes
They have cabins just 2 day max
There arw locker rooms! Not sure how private they are but they are there.
There is a campground, up the hill from the main entrance. It's called the south entrance. Beautiful camping area. Yes, there are sites for tents.
Middletons, in the village on Main st
Nothing but minnows and tadpoles.
Yes its dog friendly. There a bunch of good spots away from the main area for a good doggy dip.
Take people there all time. In wheel chairs Don,t worry dad is safe enjoy your self and wish dad a happybirthday
U have to rent pavilions but plenty of grills and tables to use also
No. Letchworth State Park does. It's not far from Stony Brook.
$7 for parking
Yes it fills up with people on nice days fast we go there every year
No. But i have never had a problem leaving battery packs in the restroom for recharge.
It normally open in beginning of the summer as far as I know but dont take my word on that I would call
Swimming season is from 6/16 to9/13 according to their website
Sorry, but the Gorge Trail is closed for the season. That is where all the good pictures are. Since it is uneven and icy, being closed makes sense
There are hills you could sled on but I don't think stony brook is the best place to sled. Lots of trees making a potential risk.
Actually im positive yes! When We were there last we walked across a pavilion that had a wedding party going on.. So im sure. I would recommend calling the main office for details...
Yes they have charcoal grills there, bring your own charcoal
