Have been trying to talk to someone for the last 4 days. I start calling before they open and stay on the phone till after they close and then it hangs up on me. Got someone only not being able to hear her because she spoke so low so I asked her nicely if she would speak up again she spoke low so I asked nicely again and she hung up on me and never called me back. It's a shame and sad

They do not answer the calls that one makes, I have waited 4 hours and what they do is hang up the call and then they say that one is committing fraud, I do not know why they are in that office with a telephone if they are not going to answer it
Rohan Jack
For not 1 but 2 days I sat on hold for over 6 hours even past closing and never spoke to one person. This has to be a joke right?
melissa Mccann
It is way too small and they cram way too many people in. They desperately need to have a rule that says if you use your cell phone, you must use headphones. The workers there, are kind and compassionate.

I have to say it took me a lot of talking and pleasing to get seen rite away I have lung cancer and 3 days before christmas was diagnosed with thought cancer I was so sick but had to go there becous e 2 days on hold on the phone for more than 8 hours each day told me I had no choice but the only way I got help was to talk and plead to those people how sick I was and was seposed to be in bed not out in 4 degree weather so thanks for not answering the phone even when they say you have a 3 a a half hour wait and you wait 8 hours for 2 days not very helpful but somehow with God's help I got it done
ii beLieve they are .
Yes but expect to wait for hours
Call them and ask them would be my recommendation so that you'll know exactly what you would need
No u. Can not u would have to call the dhs office or go to the office there on 206 ELMWOOD AVE PROVIDRNCE RI 02907
Yea they not letting u in for nothing and dropping off papers risky cause they stay claiming they didn't receive them
True Facts, some people let their position over others to extreme limits without realizing where they themselves come from or just how Equal we are as well, be patient and let no one stop you from having to do and be you.
Is dhs office open to the public or are they still closed cause of covid
I'm not 100% sure but yes you should be able to contact them or Medicaid and ask them for a copy of the info you need. You can even have it faxed over so you won't even have to go there.
FEBs deposit will be sent out on the 20th of january.. so you will recieve that early .. But its March thats the problem... DHS is trying to figure out how to manage March and forward if this Stupid Pres. Keeps this shut down going... so prepare save Febs deposit you get this weekend!!!
The same thing has happened to me with my snap I had to go back down to the office three times afterwards they said they scanned my papers and it did not work but this Providence office is messed up down here so try again go down to speak to them wish you luck
I am moving from one apartment to another in the same building.
No
you have to call to order a new one unless you visit another location that is taking walk ins.
You absolutely 💯 right ✅. I have the same experience as you and it's frustrating 😒.
no but you can pick up and bring documents at the entrance
I went there but it's closed you can only leave your paper work and they will get it.
No, none of the DHS are open they're all working remotely.
Probably when everyone gets vaccinated & the pandemic is over.
Almost impossible to get a hold of anyone
They always mail you how much you get in foodstamps
My income is like $500 more and I got it, try to talk to a supervisor.
Sorry that I do not know but I do know that they have a drop box in the lobby and they check on it frequently. I hope that helps, maybe a call, they might have the number on their recording.
On line is better
That is very strange because the DHS has a very efficient call center with workers who are very professional. Are you calling the call center or a particular worker. Just so you know, most of the workers at DHS are working from home because of Covid. The number of the call center is on the DHS website.
Welcome to Rhode Island
You have to look up the app for snap it should say w i c snap they have a app online and you can find it and ask how do you recertify and it'll tell you
I really have no ideas how to do it.
No
It should go in your bank, notify the state that issued your check..
I'm not sure if you can apply at the DHS building but they can point you in the right direction for sure. I'd hate for you to go down there, wait in line, just to get sent elsewhere so I looked up some info for you. check out RI.gov and look under emergency shelter assistance I think it's called. Try this link it should give you the info you need. Or you can dial 211 on any RI phone for help also. I hope you find the help you need. http://ohcd.ri.gov/homelessness/looking-for-help.php
Also apply for WIC. There's several food pantries you can get help from.
I doubt it but you can ask
I think you need both insurance and your food stamp statement
Did you mean applying for assistance? If so this is what you need or you could go get the form fill it out there, wait to be seen or get an appointment. You could also fill it out elsewhere. Then bring it back with all proper paperwork. Be prepared to make a whole day of it. Either way. (ID/License address, birth certificate, social security, If own or renting proof or a homeless letter. If staying with family or friends a letter your a transient,.IF WORKING pay stubs, if on SSI SSDI ET bring proof , Car info if you have a vehicle, bank info, any ASSETS.i think I covered everything. GOOD LUCK
No but they will want you to get a RI license or ID within a time period of applying.
You need ID Social Security number address proof of address
No they are closed for election day
A letter stating what that's probably why she sent you to The SSI building
You need an ID, proof of RI residency, citizenship, income.
Yes
Go to RHODE ISLAND DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH they will be able to give you a copy for a FEE as long as birth has been registered. You may also try the city or town offices where you gave birth
Thats so kind kenny but i coid not take your food. God bless u
8:30am to last person in at 3pm. Its best to go there earlier by 7:30-8:00am get in the line, then you are in and out. Hope this helped
There have been a change at snap. If you're living in a housing and yoou don't pay electricity and gas your food stamp will decrease.
Go back to SNAP any office in RI speak to worker. Bring ALL YOUR paperwork. If you didn't get caught up in mess over a year ago they can fix then & there. Happened to me and got my stamps in an hour. Good luck. Always busy so really no good time
They might have one dont know off thr top of my head
Apply at the one in the city that your moving to. Probably do it over the phone. Good luck.
Normally there pretty good about that ,do you have children, also make sure you have all needed paper work when you go in makes the process easier
You will need to call the 800# to get your question answered. Or go directly to the office at 206 Elmwood Ave, Providence, R.I. Don't take to long because the will deduct monies from you normal amount. It might not be much but it hurts the pocket nevertheless. Don't wait go early in the AM 8:15am and bring coffee. Bring with all you information as if your were a new client, BE PREPARED. I HOPE YOUR SUCCESSFUL.
Yes. If you currently receive food stamps and you lost your perishables due to the storm knocking out the power, then Yes they will replace your food.
You might have to go in could be its time for your renewel and you didnt recieve the notice
Every day mon- fri

When I helped my aunt to fax a letter. I gotten the number from calling them but it didnt work. Your best ber is to go tgere personally and the have a person who scans it and that copy gets fax to the corresponding agent who is working on the case
You consider call....that's the best step foward...
Yes the Providence location does but you have to live in Providence though.
